I have a 07 Yaris Sedan that I have to purchase new tires for soon! What I am concerned with is that most places are not carrying R15's anymore. Is it possible to go with the R16's without having to purchase new rims?

Also would the 195/65/R16's work? That's the size most are carrying. They are not carrying 185's either. UGH!

Thanks!

no, R15 is the size of the rim the tire is on. the only numbers that are ok to change is the 185/65, not the R15.

but you can put a 195/65/15 on your car. you will have to buy a 16" rim to fit the 195/65/16

BlueYaris, click on the TireRack link at the top of this page (right up there^^^^ on the right), and you will find dozens of tires in 15" to fit your Yaris. At good prices, too.

i have 195/60/15 on my car. they are 1.2% too big, so you take that into account when manually measuring mpg.

Any decent tire shop should be able to get tires from their local wholesaler within a day or so. I find it hard to believe that they don't stock any 15s if the location in your profile is correct. We salt the hell out of our roads in the winter up here and there are still plenty of cars spec'd with 15s rolling around. If you can't find a shop that's not trying to up-sell you on a new set of wheels, I'd take the advice of the gentleman from Rhode Island above and buy from Tire Rack.

+1 for tire rack. I bought 2 sets of wheels and tires from them this year. These guys and their website are wonderful, lots of information, and a screen shot device to see how different wheels look on your car.
