And she thinks the Yaris is manlier than the TC?

Scion TC is like a fixed up corolla imo, I'd take the Yaris over that.

Don't know about the car. But letting your "gf" or others influence a $20,000+ decision based on looks alone will lead to a life of never having what you want. Get what you want while you are single and stop worrying about others opinions.

Not bloody likely. I'd peg her at closer to $30k.

27-32kish

It will be the size of a 350z or abit smaller, I know its smaller than an M3 and Mustang, so if you have heavy snow where you live you probably cannot drive it all year around.

there is a lot of confusion because Toyota has said several different things.

What looks most likely is two cars, 1 an all out sports car in the 30k range that will compete in that range, and another light weight rwd vehicle they can stick in the scion lineup.

Keep the Yaris. If you're anything like me you don't want another car payment. Don't worry about status and having a "better car", it's overrated. In this economy necessity is your best friend (And I say that because I paid mine off ahead of time 2 years ago. Lucky for me I had a high enough paying job at that time to do so. Even more happy now with the car than ever before)

thanks for posting that link.. we can close this topic now with all the "I read this, I read that" bs about the FT. So much misleading info about this car when poeple post about it and nobody puts up a link to where they read thier information from.

I am personally excited about the this car. I think it is a similar look to the Genisus, but its a toyota and going to be better.. lol

Like .kevin. said, tC really is a fixed up Corolla.
I used to have fixed up Corolla and traded it in for Yaris.
I traded in Yaris last year for '11 tC.

PRO:
- Good price. tC MSRP was $19k when Yaris was $16k.
- Nice 18" rims.
- Roomy rear seats.
- Fairly good fuel economy. My average: Corolla=32, Yaris=38, tC=30.
- Stock exhaust sounds nice.
- Interior with '90s design and feel (Can be CON for certain people).

CON:
- I have a roof noise problem that I'm trying to get it fixed for 1/2 year... I'd never get any car with panoramic sunroof in my life because of this experience.
- Transmission is rougher than anything I had before. Sometimes even a clunk noise when shifting. Others have the same problem, so it's not just me.
- Rear suspension makes a light clucking noise when going over the speed bump. And I'm not the only one for this too and it's irritating.
- Camry engine is so smooth, it doesn't have any sporty feel.
- Huge blind spot over C pillar.
- Sound system is not as nice as it looks.
- Suspension feels like is just a stiffened Corolla. My fixed up Corolla had better handling.

It really is just a little sporty sedan with only 2 doors.
I'd recommend to wait for FR-S if you are looking for something sporty.

Do not trade in the Yaris... if you must get another car sell the Yaris privately, with rising gas prices you will get a good price for it. Hell my 04 echo with 260,000kms dealer offered me $1k for it, I got $3k for it privately within 3 days of posting it on kijiji.

I'm waitin on the FT myself.
