2007 Yaris and Service Engine Soon

Hello all, i tried to search a little and i am just not sure if this is covered.
I bought a used 2007 Auto Yaris with around 54000 miles. I have around 60000 miles on it right now, and from what i was expecting (i had a scion xD and did the same) that an Engine Service soon light will come on indicating it is time to change the oil. I thought - also from what i read in the forums, that this would come after 4500 miles of driving it (assuming the previous owner reset it before they sell it to me - according to her she had made an oil change).
So the question is: does the 2007 have an engine service light to come on when the oil change needs to take place or not? Should i wait for it? I mean 6000 already and i am used to change oil every around 5000 miles..

I don't think you have one.

Mine is an '06, same vehicle you got in '07, and I do not have a maintenance light. Thank God!

I have an 07' model (built in 06') and I have the ! service light.

Just checked my manual and I have this section;

(m) Engine Oil Replacement Reminder Light (Except for Canada)

This light acts as a reminder to replace the engine oil (blah, blah, blah)...

It states when you drive 4500 miles after an oil replacement, the light will illuminate for 3 seconds and then flash for about 12 seconds after ignition key is turned to "ON". At about 5000 miles, the light will come on and stay on until reset.

hmmmm thanks for the fast response guys! So it makes no sense to me... why doesn't it come on already? Well i am going for an oil change, and will check at the beginning when all lights come off if the light bulb is off or not ..

Yep WeeYari is right. My 07 has that feature also.

i've never seen it come on, but i know i have an engine maintenance light.

yeah i meant the maintenance light, i am sorry about the confusion. it does light on initially when all the lights go of when you turn on the ignition but it does not stay on to show there needs to be an oil change... :/
