Generally speaking, do you think the Yaris A/C system is powerful enough for its job or is it just barely adequate? My 2007 HB is in excellent overall condition. Its A/C 132A coolant is at normal levels. Nevertheless here in South Carolina (hot and humid) I find it is mostly just adequate and sometimes inadequate. My wife has a Scion Xb and its A/C will freeze you out by comparison. I'd like to know what most of you think about your Yaris A/C systems. Thanks.

Pretty happy with mine. Got 113,000 and live in Florida. I assume you do set your A/C on recirculate. Check cabin air filter

Not freezing, but cold enough in the triple-digit southcentral Texas heat...

Then again, I only run it when I am sustaining speeds of 55 MPH or higher. Below that I think it's too great a strain on the small engine, nor is it very efficient at slower speeds.

there is a thread for wrapping the pipes with pipe warmer which will make the ac a lot cooler.. keeps it cold due to engine heat.

I do not use the recirculate setting on A/C - maybe I should. Also I find it is generally strong enough on the highway but is too weak around town. Both of your comments are related to this. I would like to know more about the "pipe wrapping procedure. Can you point me in the right direction for this?

Yes you should, that is most likely the reason you don't find it adequate. By not recirculating it, you're pulling the hot air from outside and using it for your AC so it's obviously not going to be very cold.

I live in PR and it's usually 85-94 with high humidity every damn day. During the midday it definately gets the job done but during an evening ride it can get pretty cold. No complaints here!
