Was the silver car traveling up over the bushes? Not clear how they ended up in those positions...

Sadly, it really highlights the way cars these days are built, versus "those days". If she had hit a modern car in the side like that, the door would have stayed in place. If there had been a passenger in the LeMans, they'd be dead.
The damage to the Lexus is pretty minimal in comparison.

Sure, just run down to your local Pontiac Dealer and order a new door panel, right? Gotta stop smokin' that stuff, dude...

if no one died how is this a tragedy? more like a major piss off but hardly a tragedy I believe.
I dont know my classics that well but the smacked car looks like a GTO no? at least the front. someone educate me pls
damn near irreplaceable car, that in the condition it was in before was probably worth close to if not more than 50k to sell... that car was a le mans, which the GTO was a trimline of... like the difference between a standard mustang, and a mustang GT

it is a tragedy... classic cars getting damaged means even fewer of them around. If she had hit another modern car, well there's millions of them around, but the classics are slowly disappearing...

I couldn't agree with you more lightweight high strength steel has done wonders for cars. A guy at work thinks older cars were built much better than the cars now I strongly disagree with him. I bet you even yaris would take a side impact better than that old lemans did the airbags in the lexus didnt even deploy so it shows you she wasnt even going that fast maybe 20 mph. This test proves my point lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joMK1WZjP7g
