I currently use synthetic 5W-20 in my 2007 sedan. Now as it gets older, and I put more miles on it (currently has 85,000 miles) I've been thinking of trying out Amsoil's 0W-20. Should I still do that, or should I stick with the heavier weight for the "increased age" of the motor?

85,000 miles isn't really very high mileage for a modern engine. I don't know that your going to get any great benefit from the switch, since you live in a warm weather location, but it shouldn't hurt anything either.

As all ready been addressed, 85k is not high mileage at all especially if you were the person to put on those miles. I can see two benefits right away, you might want to up your intervals and/or slightly better gas mileage.

Going from a syn to another syn can never hurt.

Amsoils 0W-20 is an excellent oil and I would have no reservation at all about using it. (In fact I have a case downstairs, lol. )

It is a "heavy" 0W-20 with an HTHS of 2.8 so likely at temp it is probably heavier than the 5W-20 you currently use.

I have been running 10-30 synthetic in my yaris. I just bought half a case of Shell synthetic 6 quarts for 18 dollars at BJ's wholesale club. I almost bought the 20 weight byt couldn't remember if it used that weight. Should I use the 20 weight? I have 113k miles and I am at 11,000 miles on the oil. Usually change at 7,500 but been low on cash.
Oil still looks good and right up to full mark

Id stick with what you got. 10-30 is fine. just stick with synthetic and it will last you forever. Your not burning oil yet so thats a good sign your valve stem seals are still good. Not hearing any ticking or knocking, you will be fine

I agree 10W-30 (especially syn) works fine. Dino 10W-30 might not be my first choice in extreme cold but otherwise would be fine also.
