what 16" wheel size and tire to not rub on trd springs

Ive searched and cant find a deffinent answer. Im trading my 2010 corolla in for a 2011 yaris and want a set of wheels for the yaris. The dealer is going to put them on and wanna make sure they order the right size sparco rims. They are putting the trd springs on im looking for a 16" size combo that wont rub at all. Thanks

With the TRD drop, you can run 195/50/16 or 205/50/16.

I believe the Sparco wheels are available in 16x7, ET37... so 205's won't work well with that offset.

16x7 +38mm with 206/50/16 tires worked great for me. I even used a 10mm spacer on the rears. That was with TRD springs, struts and shocks.

Note that I did change the shocks and struts. Stiffer shocks do help with any rubbing problems.

No rubbing except on extreme cornering or with a full complement of passengers or cargo.

would it be better to go with a 15" rim say 15" by 6.5" or just go with a 16" wheel and 195/50/15 tires?

That is the link you need for your information your looking for. Its a slow thread cuz this as been addressed so many times that there is a sticky for these questions now.

Also, it appears you are still undecided on what size you wanna go with. 15", 16" or 17". You gotta pic your rims size first and then get the tire that applies. If you are going to get that big brake kit, then 17" is basicly your only choice.

I dont know if this is a typo or not, but you cant put a 195/50/15 on a 16" wheel

What are your goals for this car anyways?
Is this a simple daily driver with some cosmetics done, or are you going for handling, Horse Power adders later?

Your right im undecided. I want to not rub at all ever during spirited driving. I will be getting the TRD springs and UR sway bar and strut bars. Im leaning towards the 195/50/16" tire size or 205/40/17". Only reason Im considering the 17" is the big rotor kit, but if 17s rub I would then go with a 16" wheel. I had the AEM big rotor kit on my old civic in the 90s and I loved how it stoped

Personally, Id go with the 16" with 195/50/16.. Id do the rear disc brake conversion cuz it looks better and just replace the front pads with some good Hawk ones.. Those will stop you better then any big brake for less then half the price.

PERSONAL opinion.. also, thats the route im going. but I cut my fender liner and rolled my fenders to fit 215/40/16. I used to run 225/50/15 on coilovers (avatar pic) slight rubbing in the front under EXTREAMELY hard cornering.

My experience:

205/40/17: looks best

205/40/16: handles best

195/50/15: rides best

If I try hard enough, all of these combos would rub, but it was a pretty minor rub between the top of the tire and the inner fender. Of the three, the 16" combo was the shortest and rubbed the least.
