ok, since im gutting my car out soon to reduce weight, i have decided to buy racing seats (mostly for looks)... ive been looking at a few seats, but the ones i really like are way too expensive... at this point i really dont mind the weight of them and then i stumbled onto Bomz racing seats... does any one have any experience with these? and how good are they?

I wonder if they'll bolt onto the available brackets?

they dont look very light.. also they dont mention weight either.. but if its the looks your looking for, I do like the way they look and the color choices. You should be the first tester and post pics and video of what you had to do to make them fit

Those are just terrible. They will fall apart/tear/fade on you very quickly. If you want to get a good deal on seats, hit me up. Corbeau is a decent quality, low-cost racing seat for example.

Oh those DO look nice. MI will take care of you. They are taking care of me! They seem real and honest and sound like they stand behind what they sell. Can't wait to get my tails and fogs!

Thanks guys. I actually had a Bomz account a while back, but I can't stand behind the lack of quality.

It probably is the least expensive "racing" seat out there though, so if you're on a super extreme budget, it might be a good choice. Problem is you'll be replacing them too soon IMO.

While we're on the topic of cheaper race-style seats, I found these awhile back. They also have a crap ton of color choices.

The company's name is Cipher Auto. Quality looks... good enough lol. Anyone heard of them?

Wow! 5lbs?? I spend upwards of six hours a day on the road when I'm working, just thinking about the padding on a 5pm seat is making my ass hurt.

HAHA.. it was a weekend car. My daily driver at the time was a tacoma to haul the engines and tow it when it broke down.

I found some pictures of a set that looks just like mine, except mine were all red

Also, the Bomz seats say that if you were to run both, you need 22" of spacing in between? Don't know about the LB, but the sedan does not have 22" in between the front seats.

Anything that is reclining wont be light. You need fixed back to really save weight. If you are not going racing you wont need an FIA seat, so that can save you some money.

I have never used this brand, but I know a number of autocross guys that have had good luck with them: http://www.f1spec.com/ty5sef1.html

They do seem like a good deal. But I have no idea as to the durability or long term comfort of those. The people I know using them only spend about 60 seconds at a time sitting in one.

On seats you get what you pay for. But if you are not going to "race" with it, buying a seat without the FIA stamp can save you big $$$.
