I have an '09 5-door LB. I'd like to add another DC outlet like this:

to the upper passenger side glove box.
Are there wires carrying switched power behind the passenger side glove boxes? If not, are there any switched power wires on the front passenger side?

You can either tape the center console lighter outlet or on the actual passenger side, you can tap the red wire on the end of the black connector for the TPWS.

Thanks CTScott. Where is that black TPWS connector and sorry for my ignorance, but what is "TPWS"?

Tire Pressure Warning System. The TPWS ECU is the 4"x4"x1" black box mounted right behind the lower passenger glove box.

Ok, I tried tapping into each of the red wires (there were two) on the black connector for the TPWS, but neither worked. I even used one of these to test if it was working:

I also managed to break the car's stock cigarette lighter outlet while I was doing this. When I plug anything (GPS, iPhone car charger, etc.) into it now, nothing happens. Could be a blown fuse, but I don't know how to replace that.

Check the ACC and ECU-IG fuses in the under dash fuse panel. You probably popped them.

The part where I "broke" the cigarette lighter outlet and probably blew the fuse was after I tried tapping into those red wires.
I'll take it to the dealer tomorrow so they can replace the fuses for me.
Thanks again.

If the ACC and ECU-IG fuses are out, is the head unit supposed to work still?

Last question for now; How are the fuses supposed to look if they are burned out? I just pulled them out, but couldn't tell if they were burned out or not.

The little metal U will be missing a piece.

Looked at the ACC and ECU-IG fuses and they both looked normal so I looked at all the rest and the one labeled "CIG" was the one that blew out. Haven't tried tapping in to the TPWS connector again.
