Hi, I have a Yaris Hatchback in Bayond Blue (8T1) and I want to install the mudguards so, How's the best looking? if I got painted or not?
May you help me?

I attached two pics from my car at the Seller about 1month ago here in Caracas, Venezuela. My car has a 1.3L vvt-i 2NZ-FE engine. I love it!
Excuse my bad English, I'm not English Spoken!

There was a thread in here started by someone with the exact same topic.

The majority of the users said yes...

and i said yes. Painted Mud Guards will look better than black.

On our Silver LB the stock black mudflaps look good. No plans to get them painted.

FYI: They work very well to keep mud and dirt off the car.

if i had mud guards on my yaris , i would paint it, what color u should paint depends on what color your Yaris is to match out the best looking.

I have Polar White... the only color I wouldnt recomend color matching to the car.

I had mine painted meteorite metallic to match the car. Looks good.

If the car were cleaner, I'd post up photos.

as soon as I get mine (tnx Violin), I'll paint them to match the body work.

Paint them the same color as your Yaris

Hi, I have a Yaris Hatchback in Bayond Blue (8T1) .... My car has a 1.3L vvt-i 2NZ-FE engine...Nice color.

2NZ-FE/DOHC+VVT-i4: 1298cc 88 BHP @ 6000 (88@6000) rpm; 89lb-ft @4400 (89ft@4400) 75mm bore x 73.5mm stroke 10.5:1 Compression Ratio

Interesting; the US spec engine is
1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve EFI VVT-i 4-cylinder
106 hp @ 6000 rpm; 103 lb.-ft. @ 4200 rpm

I don't know about painting the mudguards, mainly because I don't know how they're going to look after a while. They flex and bend. Won't that cause the paint to crack and flake? And, there are lots of other things that are black on the exterior. And if I were to paint them, I would DEFINITELY paint the rear sides only, not the sides that face the tires, that's maybe just so obvious, but has to be said, just to be sure.

My paint guy said they'd be fine. It would look terrible to only paint one side.

Looks real nice Robert. Im a little worried with all my driving, that Polar White would get dirty as a B!tch though. I was very suprised at how well a job they actually do, for being as tiny as they are. Thanks again for them.

I'm curious how the painted mudguards have held up. Anyone have any feedback. I checked at the dealer about ordering the set of black mudguards and asked the guy if he knew whether the finish was smooth or matte. I had heard if the finish was matte there would be a better chance of the paint adhering to the mudguards. He had no knowledge of anyone painting them to match the car color. I also am concerned that the paint would crack or flake especially after an Ohio winter.

I also checked at an aftermarket specialist to see if the mudguards were available already painted. He had no luck locating anything.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. It sounds like the mudguards really help with the mud and I want to get them installed before Fall arrives. Just not sure I would like the black on the Silver Streak Mica sedan.

Thanks

I like them black too. They compliment the other black parts and trim on the car. Plus when they get scratched... they will look like crap.

Some of you got the mud flaps stock? I didn't get them even with my "All Weather Package", and with all the snow around here they'd come in handy.

On those runoff days I use the rear wiper at least 3 or 4 times on the way home, when I can't see through the rear windshield anymore.

wind drag:laugh:

I think I'd lose mine on a pot hole so no guards for me.

im thinking mudguards have got to add some wind drag and hurt mileage. the yaris has pretty small mudguards, so to what extent they's affect it i dont know.

im no hypermiler by any means, but my first thought with any mod is: "what will this do to my mileage?"

oh no! is this the first step to hypermilerdom?

I don't think they'd hurt FE much, as they're small and already tucked behind the wheel/wheel well, which are known drag items.

Does anyone know where to pick these up as after market parts?

I just called my local Toyota dealer to order a set of mudguards and he told me they would not fit on the S sedan because of the spoiler package:confused: . Has anyone else found this to be true? Anyway, I was told it would be about $46 for front and rear set.

Tocayo!

Pintalos!

Paint those MOFOs I did it and don't regret it a bit. If they get messed up I will remove them and get them painted again!

Painted! I just did! I have a white LB and it will look ugly with black mudguards. Besides, Im going for the all-white look. Will post pics soon. Found a shop that painted and installed it for me for just $50... with lifetime warranty. :-)

Painted, the mudguards stand out and change the lines of the car a bit.

Unpainted, they seem to blend in with the tires and are barely noticeable.

Both ways seem to work... the final effect is just different.
