Good luck on this one...but...its getting worse so...

I first noticed this noise a couple of months after buying it new. At first it was intermittant. Now its almost constant. I THINK its only happening when the engine is warmed up.

The noise is faint but you can hear it if you try. Its like a continuous squeek or whistle that goes up and down in pitch. It doesnt happen when the car is standing still. But it doesnt get louder or more or less frequent when you increase or decrease speed. Come to a stop and it stops.

Thats all I got.

Do you still have your factory brakes, drums, shoes, rotors?

I had this exact same problem and eventually it went away. One of my housemates is a car guy and he was convinced that it was just the brakes and nothing to worry about. I was worried it was maybe wheel bearings. But the sound went away and there does not seem to be any problems at all. Even jacked up every tire off the ground and they all spin free. Of course if it was the bearings, it might only squeak when under the load of the cars weight. Does the sounds change or even go away under breaking? What about light e-braking (just to test, no drifting around corners now!)

Anyway it sounds like you have exactly what I had and it eventually just went away.

Thanks!

Just had the tires rotated after 26k miles. Maybe that helped.

Will brake the next time I hear it and see if it goes away/changes.

I think your right.

The fact that it did it with 1k miles on it prolly means what you suggest...

Whats ebraking?

Is it coming from inside or outside the cabin?
