hello all. i am pretty new here but i just picked up a 2010 yaris and i am looking at making the car look more aggresive and cooler while maintaining a functional approach.
i have been researching wheels/rims and tires for a short while and i have run into a block. tires are new me as well as wheels and i need help finding the right wheel and tire package that wont rub. i h8 rubbing. i dont plan on dropping the car or update the suspension till i need it if that helps
this is what i got: (all stock except for the tint and in channel rain gaurds.

xxr's are gorgeous but there is a big difference on the look on +40 vs +20 offset...

You mentioned that you DON'T want to rub. So do not choose +15 or 0 offset. +40 offset is fine.

i will call and see what a package for the 16x7 rota's cost
would the 15x7's work with my stock tires? -> (P185/60R15 84T)

so this is my option:
16x7 +40 rota rb's with 205/45R 16 Achilles tires
or
15x7 +40 rota rb's with my own tires at P185/60R 15
does anyone have any insight as to which will look or work better?
any rubbing issues with any?
preference?
pro or con's?

No rubbing issues with these two options. 15's and 16's work very well. My preference is 16's on the Yaris. Why would you choose 205/45/16's on stock suspension? 205/50/16's will be a much better fitment on stock suspension or with a mild drop.

this is the rim and wheel package the company is offering me.
is there a bigger difference in the 205/45/16's over the 205/50/16's

They must have a special price on 205/45's... which are a bit short for stock suspension. Go with 205/50's for a much better looking fitment, a more comfortable ride, and a little more sidewall to protect your alloy wheels.

Thanks kimona for the help.
But what about the difference between my stock tires being 185's for the 15x7 yet I would be going to a 205's if I go with a 16" rim?.... wouldn't I run into rubbing if I used a bigger tire for my yaris? This car is also suppose to be the traveler and gas saver so I'm going to drive it everywhere. I am considering the 16" but don't want to rub if I'm fully loaded or driving out of state.

16x7, ET40, 205/50/16 with stock suspension will not poke and will not rub, even loaded.
My car is a daily driver. I drove it from FL to CA fully loaded without any issues whatsoever... and I run 16x7, ET42, 205/50/16 on stock suspension. It's a very mild set-up that looks quite good and handles so much better than stock wheels/tyres.

Personally, I love both the ride and the look of the 205/45-16 tyres with stock suspension. But maybe that's just me.

So, there isn't much to worry about if I go to a 205 tire?
I think my biggest fear was the rubbing. I have two kids, or with the seats down a car full of truck parts for my other project so I know I am going to put a load and don't want the rub I got when I put rims on my old honda 10+ years back. And I do travel out of state often so I. Do want a rim and tire combo that will be functional as well as cool.
Kimona, you mentioned you were runing +42?... that must change the dynamics if I am a +40 for the wheel set I want and running 205 tires?
Just trying to make sure. I'm real close to commiting to buying the 16"s

16 x 7, ET40-45 will be fine with 205/50/16's. No rubbing on stock suspension... even with a load.
