Specs -
16X7 Bronze Konig Heliums
205 50 16 Falken Zeix 512
Black gorilla splinedrive lugs
Springtech springs 1.7 in drop F\R

I am going to put in the center caps, but I am painting them black first.

The car rides very well with these springs. Just changing the wheels and tires was a noticeable improvement in handling. The car felt more stable and consistent. Adding the springs just tightenend up everything a bit more. The ride is great with the stock struts and these springs. I wanted these over the Tanabes because the Tanabe DFs lower the rear too much for my taste.

I got the wheels and tires from JLB Motorsports in Corona, CA http://www.jlbmotorsports.com. They did great work and gave me an excellent price on the wheel and tire package. They do alot of businees on ebay and some other forums. I highly recommend them.

That looks really great, actually. I'm with you in that I prefer the look of the lowering kits that keep the F/R geometry the same. The ones that lower the rear an extra few tenths of an inch somehow (and I can't quite explain this) end up looking more generic and plain. And the bronze wheel looks very nice against the silver.

Now go get some foglights!

Looks good! If i had a silver car i would have been scared to do it untill i seen it some where. The bronze wheels really go great. The drop is perfect!

Just out of curiosity, Why did you choose Spring Tech springs? Do you like them? Car looks good.

Very nice. I'm waiting for my 16" rims and will post pictures after they arrive. Q: Did you order the 16" because it rides better than 17" or 18"?

The springs are great, and ride pretty well. I went with the Springtechs because it is an even drop front to rear. The Tanabe DFs lower ther rear more than the front in some of the cars I have seen, and I don't like that stance.

Yes they do. I am going to paint them black when I have time. I think it will fit the theme better.

Cheaper tires, and a better ride were both factors. Plus I didn't want to sacrifice any fuel economy. Also I didn't want to spend $1000 on a set of lightweight 17s. My setup is only a couple pounds heavier per corner than the stock 15s.

At this cars weight and power level 14-15 inch wheels and good tires will yeild the best handling.

Your car looks good. I ordered gunmetal wheels but the gold looks nice. My tires size in 205/45/16 and will probalby lower the car 1.8 or 1.9. that will create the same look. Thank you. Pic later.

awesome car, dude...!
great drop... kinda makes me think about getting the springtech's instead of my planned NF210's...

i'm also thinking on going for bronze wheels, although I'm leaning more towards the ssw trex 16's:

https://www.edgeracing.com/images/wheel/ssw_trex_(bronze)_front_zoom.jpg

still in the early stages of window shopping though, so things may change drastically in the future... i.e. right now my ideal tire setup is 205/50/16, although i may just go for some 215/45's, which would probably rule out getting those wheels in the first place...

decisions, decisions, decisions... :)

Just an FYI, the 215s may rub a bit more than you would like on hard turns or big bumps if you go with a lower spring (DF,Springtech Tein etc.). With the TRD springs or the NFs you should be fine. My 205s rub just a bit in these situations and swaybars and/or sturts should fix it.

I really like the colour of your wheels. Do you find that the colour changes depending on the lighting around the car?

I ordered the Konig Helium in 17" last year, Bronze colour.
See Thread: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1264

When opened, they were not very bronze, but more gun-metal!
I do wish my wheels were a little more bronze than gun-metal, especially after seeing yours. But it could be because of the lighting issue.

Just a friendly note to those who are interested in Helium 17's - verify the colour first! It seems the "bronze" colour is consistent among the 16 and 15's I've seen so far.

In the dark, these could be mistaken for gunmetal but when there is any light at all they are clearly bronze. The pictures I have seen of this wheel are accurate to what you see in person.

These are a very deep, dark, bronze. In fact, these are the darkest bronze wheels I have owned. I have had some bronze Rotas and 5Zigen wheels before and like this dark bronze on the Heliums better.

Hope this helps.

Guys... check out Konig's website (http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_subcategory.cfm?CategoryID=1&SubcategoryID=22&SubcategoryName=2007%20PASSENGER%20WHEEL%20LINE).. . they show the bronze Heliums in 15" & 16", and then again in 17" & 19". There are *2* different bronzes depending on size... its right there on their site.

You got it Doc!

The 15/16 Helium Bronze is VERY bronze. Brilliant colour.

The 17/19 Helium Bronze is somewhat bronze when there is lots of natural light, but extremely gunmetal. If you take a look at the picture I took of the wheel on a sunny day, you'll notice that it is not nearly as bronze as Ashley's wheel.

Sorry to thread hijack like this

I'm very confident that there is a difference in "bronze" colour among the 15/16 and 17/19 as Doc pointed out.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say that your Yaris looks great, and I like the colour of your wheels

No problem. Your wheel definately is lighter. I'm sure they will look great on the car none the less.

I've got the Tanabe NF's and 205/50/16's on BBS and I've had to modify the front inner plastic liner so they don't rub: bent the front and back metal tabs and then used a heat gun to modify the plastic liner at the tabs

Ya'll are rubbin with 205's? What offset are you running.. I have 225/50R15's with absoluly no rubbing.... and I have plenty of room to lower... Teyrume with the supercharged Hatch is running the same size as me and he is lowered with no problems.... Ya'll must be running an odd offset

Strange but I am running 205s as well and I experience no rubbing.

205 40 R17 tires on TRD Springs (Eibach Pro rebadge). About a 1.2" drop front and rear.

Rim is Konig Helium 17 x 7, 38mm offset I believe.

I had the same issue running 215/45ZR17. I actually had to change my fronts to 205/45/ZR17s so I wouldn't rub. The rears were and are fine. So right now I'm running two different tire sizes until I wear them out. I believe I have a +43 offset. Before I found this board, guys at Toyota told me 43 is what I should run. Tire guys didn't see a problem with that but the front inner fender has a weird shape and when I lowered it with the 215s, I rubbed a bunch and did some hacking to the plastic to remedy. It helped but I still had to change to 205's. Even with the 205s, I get some minor rubbing on u-turns. :iono:

Is it because you guys have too much sidewall?

All the people I have met that are running 17's on the Yaris (lift/hatchback specifically) are running 205-40 R17 tires as oppossed to 205-45.

Wondering if that might solve your problems..

That's what I was also told. And given that my current setup only rubs on u-turns, I imagine 40s wouldn't rub at all. I really like a little more meat on my tires though. The 40s are so skinny. Not to mention road noise is already bad enough.

My tires rarely rub with 205 50 16s. My wheels are 16X7 +40 offset. Only on hard turns at speed, or large dips at speed will the tires rub the inner fenders in the front. The TRD strus should keep it from rubbing on all but the largest bumps at speed.

When u guy rub during u turns, which part of the wheel does it rub ? If it rubs on the inside, more offset will make things worse.

I'll probably be getting some 16 x 6.5" and with +40 offset together with 205/50R16. With a 6.5" wheel at the same offset as you, the wheel should sit inside just a little bit more.

What do u think ?

Black Yaris

why are ya'll runin the wrong offsets? 7 inch wide should be +38 nothin less, nothing more.... on a 6.5 you have a bit to play with... so a +40 would work no problem with no rubbing issues at all

I'm having rubbing issues on the back tires of my sedan. :frown:
The wall of the tire rubs the edge of the fender.
This is my set up:
Hankook R-s2 W212 205/50ZR15
Konig Heliums 15"
Tanabes DF 2" drop

Weird thing that my car is only rubbing on the left side.

Don't want to go to down to 195 tires or to a more conservative 205. I just need like 4mm to clear the tire so I will probably do some cutting.

From what I gather, so long as you have the correct offset... for a 6.5" wheel its +40 for a 7" wheel +45, it shldnt rub at all.

Right ?

Hey, dresden_k

I drive on 205/45/16 with Tanabe NF210. No rub. Zero problems. I will post new pictures this week so you can check out the lowering situation. I need to clean the outside before posting new pix. Its drives great. I do still need a alignment but that will happen this Saturday. I personally believe that you should always do the alignment after removing the springs.

My 6.5" +40 with 195 juuuuuuust graze (you can just see road dust being rubbed) on full bumpstop mashing compresion with the wheels turned, though no damage at all. I just mounted some 7" +40 with 205/50 Toyo RA1's and unfortunatly they are tearing my front wheelwells apart and scuffing the tires pretty bad if the wheel is turned and the front end loads up hard. Drop is Tein S.Tech's with cut bumpstops/stock struts. I'm bummed because I was hoping I could get away with the wheels, but it looks like I'll need +45 and removing that area of wheel well liner to clear it 7" wide rims.
Good luck.

Mind you that's only worst-case-scenario: shocks mashed flat, tires cut hard, no camber adjustments (as 03Z33 has had success running his car hard with +35's, but camber cranked allowing the wheel/tire to slip inside the wheelwells and clear). I hope you find something that works for you.
I'll try and get some +42, 43 and 45's in 7" to test fit soon and let you know how it goes.
