I just installed a new Hidden Hitch on my "new to me" '07 LB. I got it on eBay from "ecustomhitch" for $109.13 US with free shipping. Shipped on the 18th and I received it today (7/20). Installation was simple, with their included instructions and I only had to remove the passenger side of the rear bumper only after not being able to get a wrench on the upper bolts. Rather than removing the whole bumper, I was able to get to both upper bolts with this method and it was popped back on in minutes.

Fit and finish on the Hidden Hitch are superb and, it's truly "hidden" with only the receiver part showing. It came with 4bolts and washers, instructions and a 1 1/4 receiver piece with pin.

12mm orginal bolts came off and 13mm Hidden Hitch bolts to mount onto frame. Very happy with the product!

What's the towing and tongue weight rating on that thing? I can't imagine you could tow much more than a motorcycle trailer before seriously stressing the drivetrain and chassis.

200 lbs tongue weight and 1000 lbs total trailer weight. For me it'll be a small m/c trailer and later a bike rack.

I bought mine from etrailer.com for around $97, combined with the hitch for his car, and we had free shipping.

I installed mine in around 30 minutes. Slight difficulty in reinstalling the upper bolt on the passenger side, but a little resourceful thinking, as well as a thinner arm, and I was able to reach up and around from the "backside" and put the upper bolt in.

I recommend having a set of ratcheting wrenches (thinner than using a short socket, but still does the same job without readjustment of the wrench).

Sorry, no pics of mine at this time. Will be using mine for a bike rack once we can agree on what type to get.

I have one intstalled but it only used the four attachement points that face the sides of the car. Nothing bolted to the spot that faces the rear of the car like it looks in the pics.
Mine also didn't replace any bolts. Just had to use the 5 that came with the hitch.

Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread but instead of opening a new one I thought I'd ask it here.

Does anyone know of a hitch which would fit the Yaris that has tubular bars? I actually do prefer for it showing rather than hidden... I'm looking for something like this:

My first hitch was a tubular, got it off of a ebay seller who made them in Michigan. I sold it here when I sold my trailer. My 2nd hitch was a hidden.

^ got any old pics of that. I can't recall ever seeing one of your car with it installed, and I've certainly never come across any while searching for hitches. I'm curious how a tubular one would manage to clear the tailpipe.

Do you still have their contact or link?

It went under the tailpipe I believe. I'll have to do some research on my account, that was back in 2007 when I had bought it.

What are they? The car in the background looks like it is not the same hitch as the one in the foreground? Thanks

Tongue and towing capacity:
Check your manual folks. It varies widely from Europe to Canada and to the US (zero) where it is assumed everyone has a Tundra to do that job.

The owners manual for my '11 LB says no to installing any type of hitch. Not even ones for bicycles. So, is it ok to ignore the owners manual?

Seriously? they may as well print: "No Passengers Allowed".

Just get a canadian owners manual. That one states it's ok to tow up to 700lbs.

Canadian Yaris has reinforced body frame and heavy duty transmission.
