Hey guys, well I thought I'd start a little thread that we do on Southern California Imports forum called. Spot The Rice

Basically, If you see a car that you think is Riced out or anything like that, Just snap a picture and post it on here. Try to take actual pics of cars you see while driving around and stuff. I always have my camera in my car just in case I see a ricer.

I'll start off the first post with a car I saw and a few other random ones I've seen.

nah the expression "ricing" came from the original nickname of imported small-engined japanese cars, "rice burners"

Over time it just evolved to describe cars modified in such a way that is over the top, all show and no go. For example, huge rear wings on a civic (front wheel drive car does not really not that much downforce), huge, noisy exhausts that make a horrible sound, or other half assed mods like HID lights that are not set up properly, badges that belong to a completely different car or brand (for example, a Honda Type R badge on a Toyota, or BMW badge on a Geo as seen in the first post), and other stuff like that.

It really depends on the severity of the case.

Not all of my mods serve a purpose, but I like them, and that is all that matters. None of them take away from the car, so I wouldn't call myself a ricer yet. If I ever get an adjustable rear wing, name me accordingly.

I must have missed the forum rule which states that you can not have a stock car in order to comment about stuff.

I must have also missed the rule that states that it is compulsory to show pictures of your mods, otherwise you are lying about it.

Abrasive as some comments might be, it is entirely a matter of taste that you do up your car as you like, and that someone else doesn't like it and expresses that opinion.

And I'm sure that there isn't a forum rule prohibiting that.

I have been researching through all your threads, and i could not find any pictures that you provide to prove you have those mods installed on your car, NO TRD shocks NO TRD lowering springs NOR Megan Racing 4-1 stainless steel header photo, only some graphics of Dyno which can be anything and anyone's, and those do not prove weither you have the mods installed on your car. Can you be so kind and post some photo of your mods for us to see?? If you cant, its okay for you to take back your BIG WORDS I have pictures of every mod I've done... dyno sheets... telling me that my mods are fake is hilarious.

My Megan header... currently not installed due to the fact that I have to dyno it yet again soon. It spent a couple weeks on there though. I thought it was a little overly oxidized for only two weeks, but whatever.

Guy... are you serious? Thats the Megan header. Its just not shiny anymore. You can tell by the bends and by the flange and by the size of the O2 sensor plug. C'mon.... :rolleyes:
