July '11 Yaris sales were down 52.9% vs. July '10. Year-to-date sales are down 49.8%. None of this is terribly surprising, since the new Yaris should debut this year.

Even with the 12's coming out I foresee a slowed sales continuing as the compact market is becoming full of many options and some of them are more aesthetically pleasing that the new Yaris IMHO.

Is that 50% drop including the fewer number of cars being produced? If Japan isn't shipping any out because of the natural disaster the sales numbers will be down. :iono:

I don't know the reason why. These are just the numbers Toyota announced.

Agreed: there should be a "produced year-on-year" number to weight the sales figures.

I agree with the Japan mention. Also, Toyota is a LEAN company, meaning there's not 20 Yaris's on one lot to choose from. I went to purchase my Yaris 3 months ago and in the state of Georgia I had 3 to choose from. Luckily there was a black 3 door 5 speed waiting for me 30 miles away!!! Which is now MINE!!!
