Rear window glass is different than current version ... must be a test mule.
When was the pic taken?

 Somebody having some fun with a fake test mule. That is not the new car.
Years ago the Winding Road covered a Corvette with cardboard and trash bags, drove it around and try to pass it off as the Blue Devil test mule.

Yeah it's definitely the current gen. cruising by the Galleria Mall. I guess the driver was just whoring for attention, which as you know is common among SoCal peeps. I says he's just about ready to move-up to ricer territory...

I agree with Thirty-Nine. It actually might be this one:

The front is a sedan (you can see it by the rear windows which are not as round as a 5-door hatchback") and the rear is from a hatchback. Also notice the "bump" on the back of the roof where both models come together. (like the one I posted)

That's what I was thinking, but it was the weird roofline that gave it away to me.
I wonder what the purpose of that/this car is? Why would Toyota build a sedan with the rear hatch? It just looks weird.

I took those pics Wednesday, August 3rd. It had all sorts of instrumentation inside and the dash was all taped up as well. I asked the guy driving it what it was and he didn't really have any to say, that he just got paid to drive it around.

Could be the same mule they used for the European model. Now just used to tweak the US model.
