I accidently got a screw somehow behind the drivers side cup holder. Now the cup holder will not close completely. Is there a way to take out the cup holder so i can get the screw out. I really do not want to take the whole dash out to get it. Is there any alternative. Does anyone know if we can remove cup holder somehow.

Thanks.

Short answer, no. I just had my dash out a few days ago, and it's actually not that tough.

Have you tried a small magnet? Or driving down a rough road with the cup holder partially open to see if it dislodges?

here is what you do..
take a rubber hammer (so you dont damage the outside of the cup holder).
then hit that outside of the cup holder as hard as you can to get it closed again..
then once you got it closed again.. superglue that boy to the dash.. s

houldnt be drinking and driving anyways..

kiddings.. i honestly dont know.. haven't played with that department yet

I haven't actually tried it, but there is a procedure on page 23 (at the bottom)
of the Instrument Panel pdf that describes how to remove the cupholder.

Here is a link to the pdf I mentioned above:

Also, there are some pics on this posting that might help you.
NOTE: He doesn't mention removing the cup holder spring as listed in step 17
on page 23 above.

Ok so here goes. Don't mind the coffee stains lol cups tend to spill a lot in these holders, they get all the vibration from the road.

1) Remove the screw. I don't know if this is absolutely necessary but I do it anyways.

2) Take a thin screwdriver and try and pry one side, while taking your other hand and squeezing both sides together. You have to pull quite hard to get the top portion to come out. So don't be shy here.

3) Once the top piece is out, take your small screwdriver and pry & pull the clips near the bottom. There is one clip on each side, but the clip on the left is the easiest to get off first.
