My local newspaper did a story on the Scion 2012, I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't a yaris. It looked just like my 08 3 door hatch back. From what was describe about the backseat, my yaris has more room. I wish Toyota would have found a way to advertise the smaller yearis. They could have directed to teens going away to college, to those who no longer needed a big car. I have carried fifteen boxes of books, and just earlier this year I carried recliner, from boss's house to mine, it fit in the back enough that it wasn't going any where. I did tie down the hatch so it would not pounce. I wished I had taken pictures, while my camera take great pictures, I don't have the cord to down load them to my pc. I have a flip phone. I didn't read the whole story, so maybe there were different pictures in another part of the paper.

You're not talking about the Scion IQ, right?

Yeah, that is the one I mean.

The iQ has zero hatch cargo room, unless you tilt the back seats. I think it's meant to target the "smart for two" crowd, who are mainly urban commuters.

So more or less... if you're going to get the iQ; you'll need two with a high IQ? :D

Tempting to break that mold and get one for a project car.

The iQ has been heavily talked about since 2008 and earlier through the original concept. It's been on sale since January 2009 in Europe. libraryelf, I hope you're not just finding out about this.
No offense.
Anyway, it also doesn't look at all like the Yaris. Check out the size difference.
I guess it's like confusing a Corolla with a Camry.

All I know is that I sat in a Fiat 500 and felt claustrophobic. I can't imagine how this car would feel.

I always thought the X/a look like the yaris.

minus the size difference, it kind of does look alike. I get what he's saying.

And here I thought the 2 door yaris hatch was as small as they ever needed to go.

IMO the iQ looks like the Yaris about as much as a VW Golf. Its a hatchback and has 4 wheels. I think the iQ will be a great city car.

it's what a yaris would look like if it was hit front and rear by big rigs... Shame on you toyota no need to make the yaris smaller. It just might grow on me. No no not in size just in like ability.

I think the iQ is very cute.
As far as getting a Corolla & Camry confused, I used to get the Yaris sedan and the Corolla confused. I'm getting better at it though.
