View Full Version : What are the Bolts in Yaris made of? SMH!

This just makes me so cranky.

I was installing a hood lift kit the other day, and I broke a bolt.

Now the bolt head is gone and the screw part is stuck in the hole. Great... I am going to Home Depot to buy a drill and a screw extractor kit tomorrow.:thumbdown:

I don't think I was giving too much force to tighten the bolt. Are all the bolts in Yaris that weak?:bs:

You may have cross threaded it. Clean the threads up after extraction and apply a little anti-seize to the new bolt and use care when tightening.

Cost savings. ...shitty chineese bolts.

Toyota has cut corners and done cheap shit that they would have not done 15 years ago.

styrafoam dead pedals, plastic clutch pedals, not "wasting" color coat under the wheel wells and on the lower radiator support (it chaps my ass to look through the lower grill and see primer).

I hope they didn't get the bearings from china also.
