It's possible to make the swap but it takes a lot of parts and money. I'm actually looking into sourcing all the required parts as the top of the line cars here are sold with the digital controls, and will put more information once we have it ;)
But don't expect it to be cheap or easy.

I created a complete plug and play harness to allow Echo_hrs to install the 'Automatic A/C" system on his car. There is a thread on here and one on MicroImage with the details on what is required. New from Europe the parts would run over $2000, and probably even more new from Japan. Echo bought his used from Japan, and it was still about $1000 for the parts required.
Here's a YouTube video of what I put together for him:

I wasn't sure if echo_hrs or CTScott wanted to publicize it ;) But yeah, it's one heck of a job :)

er... I would think way more expensive and harder as you still need the actual physical AC system (compressor, piping, evaporator, etc)... CTScott can probably give you more details but I have no idea how hard it would be to retrofit!

If you don't have AC, then it would be VERY expensive, as you'd need the complete USDM AC system (minus the control panel and USDM AC ECU) as well as all of the JDM parts.
