Yikes!
The driver of this car had an HD video camera attached to his dashboard. Not only did it capture the effects of the earthquake of March 11, you can see what happened when the tsunami caught up with his car. The driver apparently exited the car a few seconds before his car was crushed (he survived).
The police recently recovered his camera from the wreckage, and were able to salvage the video. Unfortunately, there was no mention of how far his car was from the shore (or how high he was above sea level) when the tsunami struck him.

Amazing. Seeing that person on top of their car as well, riding it out.

That was quite intense. I didn't realize how much cars float.

Me either. However floating aint particularly safe when the tide pummels you into objects.

Good thing that the passenger in the car in front remembered to close the door when they got out.

The backstory from the site...
Yu Muroga was doing his job making deliveries when the 11 March 2011 earthquake hit in Japan. Unaware, like many people in the area, of how far inland the Tsunami would travel, he continued to drive and do his job. The HD camera mounted on his dashboard captured not only the earthquake, but also the moment he and several other drivers were suddenly engulfed in the Tsunami. He escaped from the vehicle seconds before it was crushed by other debris and sunk underwater. His car and the camera have only recently been recovered by the police. The camera was heavily damaged but a video expert was able to retrieve this footage.
That is absolutely amazing! I'm glad he was able to escape safely!
