Which lowering springs for my application?

Hi all. I am just wanting to get rid of that awful factory stance that my 2009 yaris sedan came with. It sits too high, the stance is bad, and the wheel gap looks terrible. But which springs should I get to change the stance? I don't want to lower the car too awful much, cause I do a lot of city driving and the dips and such are pretty bad. I'm thinking of something like 1 inch in the front, and 1.5 inches in the rear.

Does that sound right? And which set of springs should I choose?

Megan racing springs are cheap and good and give a 1.5 drop over all.

But if I'm wanting the back to look even with the front, don't I need to lower it slightly more in the rear? Since the rear actually sits higher than the front... Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about lol

1" drop front and rear (though sedans seem to drop more in the rear than a hatchback due to the extra weight of the trunk, so you'd likely be about 1/1.3 f/r in the end)

If all goes as planned, I will have the Megan springs on my '10 sedan tomorrow. They are supposed to be a 1.5" drop.

It took me about 2.5 hours doing it in my driveway. The ride of the Megan springs is not harsh at all. They are not much stiffer than stock based on seat of the pants testing.

My '08 sedan is lowered with TRD springs which are advertised as a 1.2" drop front and back. While the drop does remain equal it is closer to 2 inches down after many thousands of miles.
As far a city driving this drop is fine. Slow and angle speed bumps and steep driveways and it's fine. I've never bottomed the chassis (except for high carwash rails) with this set-up after ~85,000 kl. or ~54,000 miles.

Hmm... that makes me think maybe I should just go for a 1" drop. Then again, maybe its just the toyota springs that sink down that much.

sedans have more weight in the rear than the hatch. any advritised drop you see is based on the hatch....

i would get prokits if i had a sedan....so something with a raked stance for the hatch

I am in the same boat, I have an option to buy a set of lowering springs from a shop in Canada called Canuck Motosports which will give me a 1.7" drop. I have 16x7 rims with a 38 offset on 195 50 16. I am worried if I buy these they would rub. Any thoughts?? What would I be safe with if these aren't?? I am also hoping to change the springs themselves to keep costs down.

canuck motorsports is a reputable company...fwiw they're one of the few manufacturers who make a lowering spring specifically for the 4wd matrix...

A few years late but I'm thinking of trying out the Canuck Motorsports springs although not sure if I want a 1.7" drop. My wife works for them so can get them cheap just don't want to do the labour twice if they are too low and have to replace with TRD ones.

I'm running on Mini Imola R81 and need new tires so thinking of going with 195/60 or 195/165. I really like the rims so sticking with those since I only paid $400 with brand new tires a few years back.

195/55/15 is a close match to the stock 185/60/15's found on sedans.

TRD .5 front 1.5 rear as for sag over time i cant say ...but Tenis would look sweet ..2 inch drop all around :w00t:

Shit, if my Teins sagged another inch, for a total of about 3", I'd be stoked lol. Might have to buy new wheels to eliminate rub, but who'd complain about new wheels?
