Rostra cruise control install

So I picked up this Rostra 250-1731 cruise control kit. this is for my 2008 yaris 3 doors with no power package.

Followed this guide http://www.rostra.com/manuals/YarisCruiseInstructions250-1731.pdf
after installing the the cruise control module, it didn't work. Scott suggested I need to connect the D3 wire which is on the same guide on page 18 and 19. The rostra instructions are not that elaborated so if anyone has gone through this install, can you please share some photos or help/suggestions?

As I mentioned in our PM chain, the Rostra guide is not for a 2008 and older Yaris (as it states itself on page one). So, you need to follow the instructions in my DIY, not the Rostra guide for your car:
