howdy,

i've noticed my that when i'm driving around or even just revving and holding the revs at anything over 2000rpm with my foot off the clutch peddle, there's a slight rattle and over the last month its turned into a higher pitched rattle.. but if I rest my foot on the clutch peddle the sound disappears. If I press it down only 1cm or all the way the sound goes away.

I've had a quick search for clutch rattles and gearbox rattles and couldn't find anything that sounds like my problem.

Has anyone had this problem/annoying sound? Any idea what it could be?
Maybe the lube on the gear selector/clutch cable in the engine bay might fix it?

This may be a spring on the clutch disc
They may become weak and begin rattly.
Possible cause overheating of the clutch disc.

Apparently this is a common complaint in the Echos. Replacing the clutch isn't cheap, either!

Throwout bearing? Mine did that.
