doesn't work , can see it get somewhat brighter and then dim over and over . The lighting is fine when any of the lights are on . Can adjust the brightness as well . So , what can be the culprit ? Last , the rolling control knob is not turned up all the way when it clicks . This is the '08 sedan and is not equipped with daytime running lights . Thanks .

Or does it light up during the day ? I forget , the other 1/2 drives it more than I do .

The dash lighting on the yaris leaves something to be desired. The only time I find them bright enough is when they are turned all the way up and the knob clicks. The range you can select prior to the click just isn't bright enough IMO.
(errm thats on my 09 lb)

Think it may be the light control rheostat switch . These aren't cheap . Hopefully it's covered by the Platinum extended warranty .

i'm not sure about the 08, but my 07... you shouldn't turn the knob until it clicks. When you turn on the lights, the whole cluster stays dark, except the little digital display, if you "click" it...

The only time I have a hard time seeing my cluster is when I have my headlights on during the day (for instance, driving in the rain). The rest of the time they are bright enough and I only have mine turned halfway towards the click.
