Is this question really being asked?
You have 2 choices. 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic, same options as with any other year. If you're happy with the 2010 5 speed then do the same. If not, switch.

^So when exactly is the '12 coming out? I'm in the market for a subcompact and the new Yaris looks very appealing.

Well, do you like your 5-speed now? The 2012's come with the same engine and transmission. The 4 speed auto is pretty dated and reviews say much of the same as has been the complaint for years - it is sluggish in comparison to the zippier 5-speed. And the 5 speed is still rated better in fuel efficiency for 2012.

The 2012 Yaris is on Toyota's website now. 3 and 5 door liftbacks, but no sedan.

Guess I'm just getting lazy. I was thinking the auto might be a nice change but I do like the 5 speeds quickness.
