Hi all - wondering whether anyone with a Canadian H/B has purchased the Spyder Halo Projector Lights (PRO-YD-TYA06-HL-BK). I have a few questions that I left with the manufacturer but haven't heard back yet:

1) Do the lights come with a factory harness or is splicing/wiring required?

2) Is it required/recommended to silicon these anywhere or are they sufficiently sealed to allow a straight bolt on?

3) When wired properly, I understand the halos operate as daytime running lights (which are both required and desirable in BC). Is this true?

4. For anyone who has had them for a while, do the lights perform well in terms of coverage? How about bulb life?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for the responses.

I too am looking at these and I am looking for some of the same answers? My only question to add is can the halos be replaced? I heard they are lit by LEDs and the LEDs can be replaced, but I coudl be wrong?

Serious.. I'm also in BC. Anyway, they do not require splicing.. the plug that comes with them plugs DIRECTLY into your stock harness. They are literally bolt on with the exception of splicing the halo wires into your park lights (which is what I did). They are not bright enough to be DRLs, though.

They're pretty well sealed. The way I see it, if you're going to need to reseal them for leaking, you're going to have to take them apart AT THAT TIME anyway. I just bolted mine right on.

Betrivent - did you have to splice the halos into the parking lights or did you do it for aesthetics? In other words, if one were to just install the harness would you not still have some other lights functioning as parking lights?

Cheers

You don't have to, you can wire them into anything you want. There are other park lights too, but I didn't wire those three LEDs in because I don't like the look of em, and my eyelids cover them up.

I'm not a fan of the 3 LEDs either :bs:

Could you PM me with your wiring code so I could do the same?

Cheers!

The ones I got off ebay fit pretty damn near perfect. Just the Tabs that hold it onto the body had to kind of wrestle with to get on.

EDIT: I was tired, it was early and I was in class on my phone. Excuse the earlier hilarious errors and auto corrects. I've attached a picture, forgive the sideways ness but I can't be arsed to turn it around.
