View Full Version : Agreed, stock Goodyear Eagle LS tires have limited life

only 23,000 miles on the 2010 HB, and the Eagle LS tires are about done.

I had seen others posting about the crappy life of these tires, and wondered...are they driving aggressively or what ?

well, I drive completely sane in the HB and my tires, after the 4th rotation,
23,000 miles, are just about done.

gonna get something far better for 2012.

I have the same tires on my steelies and still good, then again I been switching from wheels to wheels ever since I pulled out the lot lol

I mean mine have tread and will pass inspection, but they
are 3/4 gone. losing anti-hydroplane ability quickly.

gonna think about something for spring. I have 4 winter wheels ready
so I am in no rush.

I had the opposite problem! I couldn't wear the damn things out fast enough. I think we had almost 40000 when we got rid of them for ContiExtremeWinterContact on the steelies and General Exclaim UHP (205/40R17) for the summer

Mine are at 29000 and I'll need new to make it through winter.

Mine are at 27k and these tires are entirely too soft. The road easily tortures and shreds them in normal use. I'm trying to keep them as long as I can but I can't rotate again because the (now) back tires have too little tread left. I miss my bfg truck tires that seem impervious.

I wouldn't recommend the Goodyear LS for winter. I drove on mine when new during our first storm. Absolutely terrifying. Zero grip on a quarter inch of snow. Winters on immediately thereafter.
They are nice in the rain though. Better even than in the dry. :iono:

Yeah I went through last winter on them, and we had some serious storms. useless is the best way to describe them. At one point I had to park a block away from the house and walk home as that was as close as I could get to the house. I cant really afford two sets of tires, for winter/summer so I need to really start researching a good overall compromise.

45k miles on 2 year old tires. 75% highway driving with rotations every 5k. 6/32" rear and 7/32" in front. 37 psi year round

Guilty as charge, lol Since I put the rear sway bar on my sedan, I do like to corner more aggressively at times.......

I'm at 54K on my stock tires, mostly crusing at 55mph. Sadly, they're not wearing out too quick The way they are wearing, I'll probably still have them next spring. And yes, I run winter tires. Hoenstly, they're not that bad of a tire. Not as nice as my Goodyear GS-D3's on my Celica, but not bad. Although, I wouldn't pay the price of them for a new set...

I've said before, these are all-seasons for Mexico. And you're close. Enjoy!
