I have a 2008 Yaris LB. This morning I was surprised to have a dead battery. I jumped it and after work went to auto one to have it tested. They said it was charged 96% but a bad battery. I didn't buy a new one because I wanted my father to take a look at it. The battery color indicator was blue with a red center. This ment it was good. But I noticed that there was a groove to twist it out. When I did this it was clear with a red center. This ment it was needing to be replaced. But in the tunnel I pulled it from had blue liquid in there. So, which do I go by? Is it still good? I bought an at home charger, was this a waste of time and money??
Help! :*(

If the battery tested bad, replace the battery. The "eye" of the battery really can not be trusted. It is reporting the condition of only one cell.

Don't believe everything you hear. Canadian Tire tested my battery and said it was "bad" and wouldn't even hold a charge. I took it home put it back in the car, jumped it, let it run for 10 min, drove the car for 10 min and that was about 6 months ago or more. Mine died because I left the lights on. The battery testers don't always give accurate results, and the people operating them aren't always the smartest. looking at mine it's blue with a red dot in the center.

That "blue with red dot" is useless. My Celica battery showed that "perfect condition" on the color, but the battery WAS shot.
