so even though im on paternal leave (new baby as of june 13, 2011) my boss informed me this week that they're going to be laying me off when i go back to work.
im going to be extending my paternity leave to the max 35 weeks which puts my eta back to work at march 19, 2012. im pretty sure i won't have a job even though thats 6months down the line....but anyone who knows me knows that i am not that enthusiastic about my current boss and workplace. so im likely going to be a stay-at-home dad (but for realz this time)
ANYWAYS
my wife, annie, will be using the yaris as her DD when she goes back to work in november.
between now and then i will be partially parting out the yaris as she has no need (or want) of a few key items on the car.
keep an eye out for a for sale thread in the coming weeks.
ill be rocking the vibe as the daddymobile - - hey i could do a lot worse, haha

If your wife's making enough income, then there's nothing at all wrong being a stay at home dad. It's better for a kid to be raised by a parent, rather than be dumped at a daycare everyday.

Not everywhere in Canada is cold, and plus it's cold for one and a half seasons at worst.

me too. I love it up there.
Well, hang in there Barber. The economy is crap here too, and we don't get very good benefits (time off, healthcare ... )

Cold? We are looking for the first frost since April here, and we NEED it! Apples don't colour off without frost... So far we have been in the high 20s-low 30s since July, and that is late for us.
Yeah, we usually have about 6 weeks of below 0C, just long enough to kill off most of the bugs.... Wait a minute... If I tell you how good it is here... Well, maybe you Yanks will vote in a government that doesn't see social programs where everyone pays their share and the poor are allowed to survive as Communism... Naaaah, not likely.

now, now, let's not start that again
not all americans dislike the canadian system. it has its flaws but definite advantages too (like all systems)

Hang in there Barber, some things are just meant to be. Enjoy the time with your child. They grow up so fast.
