I am trying to fit a set of slicks (probably Michey Thompson or AVON) on my Vitz but I am wondering whether these were proven under these conditions?
I am thinking of a 13 inch rim size, a 22 inch tall and 8 inch wide slick. Not sure if I need spacers for them.. that depends the tire offset.

I would like to ask this question especially to 200 Bhp + yaris/echo/vitz owners although all replies are welcome.

If someone experienced slicks please mention rim size + tire dimensions + slick brand/model no + any offsets or spacers.

Also is there any company who make upgraded axles for our cars?

Thanks in advance!

Alex

Thanks for the info there. Could you tell your friend what :

- Rim size. Spacer used?
- Slick dimensions
- Slick M/T but what model no?
- If the slick has any offsets ?

This is to know what slicks actually work fine with our cars.

Blown_xa is running slicks with stock axles, he's doing fine.

I have Weld drag rims with MT slicks. I have to use a 5mm spacer only.

I'll measure them today.

Weld 13" rims (the Konig sticker is a joke), need a 5mm spacer to clear stock Yaris brakes.

M&H R154 tires 8.0/22 x 13

Didn't blown_xa break one axle last time at the track?

^ I think he did, but it was a while ago? Not on this last session, pretty sure (12.33 ET)

I remember him breaking one a while ago. He said he'd rather break a few more before paying like $1200 for dss axles lol

^ and between him and me, there are your two strategy choices, LOL

When I broke an axle, it was because I let off the clutch way too fast and the track was super sticky. Now that I know what it takes to break an axle , I don't do it, lol. I once broke an axle doing a burnout on radials, but I was going a bit crazy with it. I drag on MT 9.5 24 13s. Kind of overkill, but work well if you aren't on a prepared track . They are borrowed from co-workers drag Civic. New axles cost $50, so I choose to not upgrade unless I decide to drag often. An lsd is ahead of axles on my list of future mods.

Nice on there man and I fully agree with you on axles (if they cost like that here)!

- Could you please be more specific on the slick model is it ET Drag or ET Drag Sport Compact? and did you meant 24.5 x 9 x 13?

- What spacer size did you used to fit them right and did you had to modify your arches to make them fit properly?

- What compound is your slick? Have you tried other compounds and had bad stories behind them?

- What power to the wheels is presently on your 1NZ and if you are using launch control at what rpm and boost are you launching?

Well done on your record times, seeing a 1NZ making that time would really make me proud in my country

Yep, 24.5 x9 x 13 you are right. Looks like compound is what it is.... no choice (L8). No modification necessary except 20mm spacers with 0 camber to clear coilover springs. Im not sure on the wheel offset though. Launching at 4600rpm 2step , I think about 6psi. Just over 300whp Dyno Dynamics. http://www.jegs.com/i/Mickey-Thompson/672/3016/10002/-1?parentProductId=746895

Cheers for the info man! Although I don't think I would choose that slick profile as it seems too overkill, I think Garm slick profile are better although not sure if M/H or M/T though!

Also with your slicks I see you launch at 4600rpm, is it because your engine is at max torque on that range?

What about your launch rpm and boost Garm?

What if the track is prepared with grip juice? What do you recommend?

What about rpm / boost launches then?
