I am thinking about installing a subwoofer in the trunk in the compartment that hosts the spare tire.. so that the whole enclosure would be hidden.. At the same time I want to keep my spare tire (even if I have to remove the whole enclosure to get access).. I guess I gonna need at least 15-20 litres for a 10 inch speaker and something like 30-40 litres which seems feasible for a 12 inch speakers (which seems difficult to get I want to keep the spare tire)..
Anyone has pics of similar good installs ?

Here's my old setup, pretty heavy though, and I have a full-size spare:

Update
I did the frame and started doing the "custom" bottom - did several layers with fiberglash resin and cloth which looked OK.. and did mat for the top layer .. and I think I sort of screwed up.. despite the fact that the box looks like sh.t inside it is pretty strong and should hopefully give me 38 -40 liters that I hope for

Anyone tried using felt from Michael's art stores to cover their sub enclosures?http://www.michaels.com/Felting---Black-Felt/nw0606,default,pd.html?cgid=products&start=32
(looks like nice material)

Below is approximate cost calculation .. I had some of the stuff, hence "replacement cost" approach.. also did not make notes (in fact intentionally destroyed all written evidence).. Problem is - I moved to Canada in August only - and I do not yet know good places to buy at good prices - was using stores like Canadian Tire, Home Depot.. All in Canadian dollars.. I guess everything would be about 40 per cent cheaper in the US
1. mdf boards 3 * 20 bucks = 60 bucks (some left for front doors- midwoofers installation is next stage of Tolmach Yaris Project)
2. fiberglass resin plus cloth - around 100 bucks (3 liters of resin)
3. measuring cup for resin - 1.00 Buck (dollarrama foreva!!)
4. small box of screws - 3.5 bucks
5. automotive carpet from Parts Express - 2 yards at 8 bucks/yard = 16 bucks plus shipment to Canada (sounds stupid but could not find good carpet around)
6. Spray glue 3M 13 bucks
7. materials: drill bits, jigsaw blades, some automotive putty to seal small holes
You would also need a jigsaw and drill (which last forever hence costs ignored ))) as well as amp, sub and some wiring kit ))
I kinda realize it would be cheaper to buy the manufactured box but wanter to save the trunk space

Yup, man I did and I also bought different products of Michaels and found a great coupon site to buy Michaels products at a very discounted price and free shipping as well through Michaels Promo Codes. (https://www.couponoutlet.org/deals/michaels.com)
