Annoying beep

I'm not sure where to post this, but has anyone successfully disconnected the seatbelt warning chime for the passenger seat? I have a dog and every time she moves up front the bell starts tolling!

I called one local dealer and they said they couldn't because it might mess up the wiring......I find that very hard to believe.

Well a friend of mine had a '05 Camry that did the same thing and he took it somewhere and had it ripped out....I'd prefer not to go that route. I love Japanese cars, but they can over-engineer some things.
