Plug and play.
Good news is the AUX jack still works between the seats unlike with the T1808 I had before this. Bad news is it DOES have a USB jack in the rear of the unit, BUT it's smaller and you can't plug in a regular USB cable directly into this deck. Looks like you'll need to hunt down the proprietary big $$ cable from the dealer to use all the neat features this unit packs. Also, it has a set of RCA outputs for an amp built in! It sounds great and has MUCH more power than the stock Yaris deck. The Scion site says 300W? White dispaly with orange backlighting.
Nice stereo....:biggrin:

Looks nice! I have the T1808, which is a little older, and I think it's great.
Very nice if you are going for the clean look as it looks just like something that would come with the car stock (except that little Scion logo).

Here's a night shot. I had the T1808 also prior to this deck. Cheap way to get something that fits the stock location and has good power + looks good!
The OEM radios are VERY well made and solid. No flimsy removable faceplates.

300w? NICE, my scion premium alpine admittedly is kinda flat sounding even with SSP and MX2 on..and its only 200w max :/ I still love it for playing my sega genesis during car shows tho :P

I just picked one up too and it's awesome. Just wondering if you have a manual for it? Just wanted to know how (if) to access the speaker balance/faders and if this has that ASL feature or whatever it's called when the car adjusts the volume based on speed and how to turn it on/off. Any EQ settings other than those preset on the SSP?
Thanks!

There ya go!
I have the T1808 and the balance/fade controls are easy to get to, but they might be a bit different for each model.
I don't think that the ASL will work because there isn't an input from the Yaris to tell the stereo how fast the car is going. At least that's my understanding of how it works.
You can change the SSP a bit by selecting which Scion model it is "supposed" to be in, so it's either configured to sound best in an xA, xB, xD or tC. I use the xD setting on mine.
You should be able to find everything in the appropriate guide from the link above though!

here's my settings:
SSP = HEAR
CAR = XD
LOUDNESS = ON
VOLUME ADJ = +2
BASS +2
TREBLE +3
lol i love it, except it gets drowned out pretty damn easy with windows open...
with the windows open i put the car settings instead of XD to FLAT. :(
is it the same issue as you?

Not to be a spoiler...
There will at no time you'll be getting 300 Watts out of that deck...at least that you can listen to without your deck smoking.
Put it this way, one of my amplifier's channels is 450 Watts at 4Ohms given 14.4 Volts. This amp has six power supplies and a couple dozen FETs amongst other things. It's also 3' long.
Now, use your common sense. What is REALLY putting out more accurate power?
With that being said, don't base performance off Wattage. I've had experience with class A tube amps that will blow your ears off...that only put out 3 Watts...
Be careful with the preconceived notions of power vs. performance.

Thanks for the link to the manual - much appreciated!
Oh, and I just did the USB mod at this link: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-electronics/84630-t1814-installed.html#post772394
And used my iPhone to hook up to it no problem - works perfectly. If you can solder a bit then this mod is super essential and very inexpensive.

Good call on the T1814. I have it in my ride as well and have nothing but good things to say about it.
Tip: If you want to change the "SCION" that displays at start up, hold down the SSP button while the unit is off and you can scroll through and change the start up greeting.

Not if it's the one that's built into the vents...

It's a 2008. not sure what you mean by built into the vents...
Seems to me that the 2007-08-09 are all the same.

they are not. Hatch/sedan is different, US/Canada is different, different models are different. Take a picture of your current deck and the surround and post it. Someone should be able to tell you from that.

I'm picking this up, and I currently have an XM/Sirius subscription. It looks like the head has a built in receiver, so I'm good there, just need to activate the radio ID on my account. However, I'm curious, will I need a separate antenna or anything to use the built in receiver? I can't find anything that indicates that I need to, but I don't know for sure.

Got it, did the USB mod, but can't get the USB/ipod/iphone to work. I always get "device error" on the iphone and the three ipods i tried all get "Error 4." The error 4 is too much current, which makes sense because the ipods were the old old old ipod videos, and the charging is different. So that would explain that. But I'm stumped on the iphone not working.
On the bright side, I have my console AUX back! and the unit sounds GREAT!
EDIT: Never mind! My USB mod was wired backward. Because I wasn't paying enough attention. Fixed, and now I have full iPod control through the HU, great sound, and my factory AUX is back in service. Awesome!
