I just changed my clutch last week, the original had about 470,000 miles on it.

Not joking, it's not a rare occurrence.

Can't go by the mileage or the calender on this one. Clutch longevity is all about the driver and use of the car.
A highway driven car with a good driver might not ever need the clutch to be replaced.
On the other hand, a clutch can be fried in minutes if you know how. Drag racing is really bad for a clutch. Beginners and drivers that are afraid to fully engage the clutch quickly at each start will also shorten it's life sigificantly.

Theres no way of knowing whether or not its changed just by the mileage on the car. Practically its sort of irrelavant as the clutch either works or it doesnt regardless of whether or not its origional.
Good luck with the purchase and tell us what happens!
