want 2 6.5" speakers for 07 sedan front, something easy to install but will sound good. $150 or less. Went to Crutchfield and Amazon and entered car info for 6.5" speakers and they said the speakers would not fit in 07 Yaris sedan.

I read thru the car entertainment forum. Most posts appeared to be dealing with high end installs. I have a Sony 700HD HU and basically want sound better than the stock equipment nothing really fancy.

I have a set of Polk Audio component speakers I got off ebay that sound great! selectable cross over etc. Will handle somewhere like 100 to 125 watts, cant remember exactly, but I have them on a 60 watt rms /channel pioneer amp and they will cook! clean power, decent bass after they break in. Got them for 105.00 on ebay...

I have the speakers in the door and the tweeter on the black panel by the mirror. Wish I had mounted the tweeter on the pillar though, aimed toward center more. Better separation and would mellow the highs a bit.

Where in Boston are you?

If you put better speakers with out a new amp, it's going to sound the same or worse. The HU's power it's not enough to accomplish better sound.

I'm doing a similar install in a Truck, I use quite a bit of Maxxonics stuff since it's not too expensive and whether it be Hifonics , Autotek , Crunch or MB Quart it all sounds pretty decent.

Of course if you pay a bit more you get more SQL level equipment like D's and SQ comps systems.
