I recently purchased some Tanabe Coilovers (http://shop.microimageonline.com/Tanabe-Sustec-Pro-S0C-Coilovers-TSC121.htm) from Micro Image. Here is my review.

Stock Suspension

Tein S-Tech Springs

Tanabe Coilovers

The goodies:
44401
Installing them:
44402

Ran into a problem with installing the fronts... ruined the top bolt in the stock strut/shock.
44397

Front setup:
44400

Rears:
This was the incorrect way of installing the rear. The collar just wobbles on the spring plate.
44405
This is the correct way! :)
44403

Super slammed on way back to my home after vacation, had over 250 extra pounds in it, scraped the WHOLE way.

Had a little visitor:
44398

Working hard.

Overall I would say Im happy with them. I wish they went a little lower. Im almost maxed out I have the one ring on the rear and fronts. I cut the bump stops on the fronts.
I havnt taken out the helper springs yet or taken out the adjuster ring... I only took out the lock rings.
They arnt super hard... They could be a bit stiffer as the fronts scrape on the plastic liners and edge of the wells. otherwise a super smoothe ride! Def. reccomend these if your looking for adjustability, ride comfort, and that low look!
Thanks Garm!

Wow, that is low!

You can carefully trim the plastic liners if you want, and a little -camber in the rear would help a lot with the rubbing.

Can I use a pic or two to show the stance?

yes you may let me know if you want better pics.

oh and yea j-mags.
and yes the tires are indredibly huge... that was a buyers mistake of trusting a tire shop to correctly size a tire to my rim, haha.... never again.

Your car is looking pretty good. I like the roof rack, but I've always been a fan. I miss your trim rings and center caps, though. I sort of stole the idea, so that's the look I'm running right now, except my center caps are painted black. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm trying to figure the photo anomaly in some of the pics. The one that says "installing them", and "working hard". The rim laying next to the car looks beat to crap!LOL or is the tire off the rim or something?

If you look there are two decals on the front of the car too. I think it's either a fish-eye or a phone panorama. I hope the wheel thing is part of that.

oh and I still have the trim ring/dustcap combo.... they will be going on when the weather turns bad so that I dont mess up my nice wheels.... last year I ended up hitting my steelies twice... they are going to suffer a beating again im sure.

Just wondering if your rear spring makes metal-on-metal contact with the torsion beam? I bought Cusco coilovers and the rear creaks and squeaks on slow speed. It didn't come with instructions, and the only way they'd fit is the wrong way as you'd shown, with the collars on the bottom.

try flipping them upside down... I think that creaky noise is the collar dangerously moving around on that beam plate you speak of.
Or I'd at least try that.

Looks good! You should post a pic on the Subcompact Culture Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/subcompactculture).

How's the ride compared to the Teins?

why?

So what do you think of them now that you've had them on for a bit? Have you tried seeing what they feel like set to full hard or full soft? How is the handling?

Looking good. You definitely helped push me to purchase my roof rack.

Those look super nice, I love that stance.

And yeah, the tops of those front struts SUCK! Only way I could get mine off was to buy a Black & Decker Ready Wrench.

I had the same issue when I put in my springs. The bolt is real tight in there but IDK how I will ever be able to remove it, its way torn.
