Hi,
I'm not used to driving a car with such a low hood. Makes me cringe when I think about the consequence of hitting a deer or pedestrian. Anyhow, I was thinking how I've been having a tough time judging where the front bumper when parking. I thought one of those tasteful Mercedes-style hood ornament would be perfect. There's a guy here at work with one for his Mazda minivan, but those are not nearly as good quality as the original Mercedes ones, which was spring loaded to prevent damage. Has anyone tried one for Yaris? If so, got any photos of the hood?

I'm sorry, but this is the first thing that I thought of...

Where else would you put it?

That would look like absolute :barf:

If you have a garage, try suspending rope from the ceiling. Drive car forward until you touch the rope. Soon enough you'll be able to accurately gauge where your front end is.

You call that tasteful? Too ghetto. You may as well put on some whitewall tires, spinners, and ball fringe while you're at it.

I swear. It looked almost elegant on a Mazda 5 minivan, which had a front end similar to Yaris.

It's your car, do whatever makes you happy.

well, if it is reversible, I would do it in a heart beat. But I am not going to get out the hand drill just yet until I hear from people who have done it.

Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment.

You'll be waiting forever. The two Toyota symbols so close together is what thows it all out of whack. If the nose was unadorned then maybe...

You could always 3M tape that sucker on there for a wee bit to get a feel for it.

How about a backup camera mounted to the front instead?

That picture is a honda one, but toyota DOES make them for the yaris, powered. I personally seen a couple in japan, but have NO idea what the part number is.

Or learn to fucking drive! :flame:

Seriously, are you trying to embarrass all of us in Texas? If you want something on the front of your car, man up and put some goddam longhorns on it!

Not sure if it'll hold up on American highways.

honestly, the emblem does look bad. don't do it. some kid will rip it out on the second day :)

having a parking aid for a yaris....c'mon, that hood is like 2 feet long, you can fit that anywhere and have a great deal of that parking spot empty. in north america that is.
