1st step in a couple of DIY's I have being written up.
All you need is a 10mm socket and ratchet and a flat head screw driver.
Pop Hood and Remove front clips(7 clips)(By the Yellow Dots)

Remove Clips using flat head screw driver or other pry tool to pull up on center piece, then pull the whole clip out.

Remove Bottom bumper screws and bolts. 10mm socket and ratchet used.(by the yellow dots aproximately)
Sorry for the bad picture. I'll get a better one when I do my break in oil change.

Now bumper should be loose, on both wheel wells there are retaining nubs. Pull back on the bumper a little by the yellow dot and it should break free.

Now pull the bumper off, there are more retaining nubs under both head lights. There are no more screws or bolts. Just give it a gentle tug and it will come off.
If you have an SE Remove foglight bulbs, or just loosen the connector. It will be the last thing connected to the bumper.

Nice DIY for the 2012 model, good pictures:thumbsup:.
Looks like it's slightly different that the earlier models.
Is the hood seal across the top of the bumper cover a factory item or did you add that?

That hood seal is a factory item. One thing I noticed when looking at it a couple of weeks ago.

Gotta ask what it is you are doing which requires bumper removal so early in ownership.

I know this is a pretty old thread but great DIY, thanks for posting. Just what I was looking for as I'm thinking of doing the same as you and fitting HID fogs :) you got any photos of them installed??

One add to this, you dont need to remove the whole bumper. Just the top.
The bumper will pivot down.
I installed fog lights, and PIAA horns without removing the bumper completely.

If you see the picture in the OP, there are 3 holes on the top of the crash bar, use the outer holes.
Using 2 body bolts, and 2 "U" spring nuts on the holes.

Some bolt it to the upper radiator support, where they can be seen through the grill.
Mine are below the grill.

The wiring needs to be extended by using a female spade connector (to the existing loom) crimped to two wires, splitting to one male spade connector to each horn.
The existing horn fuse and relay handle it.

I used the higher toned ones, they come as a pair:

These are lower tone:

I was wondering if the HIDs could be installed without taking the bunker completely off. If the fog light housing unclipped at all while its still attached to the bumper?

Just started on my horn enhancement project - planning to use the air horns I had in my very first car (about 35 years ago!), as I just found them in the shed.

First thing I noted on my 2013 Yaris is that the 10mm fasteners at the bottom of the bumper are not all the same. Some are screws, which go into a clip-in plastic block, and others are bolts which thread into metal. And the pattern is not symetrical, so take notes, or pictures as you go, or just check that the fastener goes happily into the current hole.

Cheers,
Andrew
