Advice on 195/60/15 vs 185/60/15… need to buy today. (Hankook vs Goodyear)

In an older thread this was said about replacing the stock 185/60/15 tires:

IMHO, the 195/60/15's make for a much better fitment on the Yaris... and the price is excellent with the rebates, plus free shipping!

Complete newcomer to the Yaris Sedan as well as tire fitting. Just found the above quote in a thread and have a couple of questions. (apologies in advance if they are "stupid" questions… have never dealt with any of this before)

1) If I go up from the 185 which came with my sedan to the 195 suggested, will they fit on the stock wheels I already have or do I need new ones to accommodate the different size.

2) The two front tires on the car are fantastic right now, but the two rears need replacing right away. I assume it wouldn't be wise to mix?

Is the improvement on the 195s significant enough that it's worth buying four new Hankooks even though I've got two tires with a of life still left on them?

If not, would it be okay to mix the two stock tires with two new Hankooks if I get the 185/60/15 instead of the recommended 195s?

i run 205/60/15 no problems at all

Moving up to 195 will increase your response to acceleration, braking, and cornering. And yes, you can go up to 205 on stock wheels, which are 5.5 inches wide. Mixing is okay, but since you're on 185's in the front, expect slight understeer at freeway speeds.

Depending on how much I can find installation for nearby I may just get all 4 then.

Anything I should avoid paying for which will be offered? This is my first time getting tires installed.

Also noticed that DiscountTireDirect is automatically adding:

- Certificates for Refund or Replacement ($10.25 per tire… worth getting?)
- Valve Stems ($3 per tire… do I need these?)

Oh, and if I did decide to get only two, should I keep the 185's on the front, or would it be better to move them to the back and put the 195's up front?

New tires go on the back. If the 185s have near full tread depth, then it's up to you.

As for the replacement certs, read into how much work is involved with a claim. For reference, I just paid $130 to the local tire shop to replace one tire with a hole in the sidewall. Time vs money.
