ABS light on.... Do'h!

hello everyone,

i own a 2010 yris liftback and the other day this light came on. it is not affecting driving but i want the light off.

has anyone ran into this issue and has insight as to the remedy to this issue?

being that it is an abs issue, i am not too sure where the culprit may be. i have:

checked the reservoir and the brake fluid is just below full


i havent cleaned the brake sensors yet and reset the system (ie: un plug the battery)


just looking for what is a good approach to solving this problem. being that it is a 2010, i doubt i have abs problems already.

That happened to me once.. and then I recall the light just went off by itself. fterwards I went and smeared some silicone grease over the sensor connections

I've also have a 2010 hatchback but have yet to have this problem on it.
That being said I've had the same problem on other vehicles where a good cleaning at the car wash then restarting the car solved the problem. Mud splashed up on to the sensor can cause the light to come on. Spray real well inside the wheel from both sides with the pressure washer.
Even if this doesn't solve your problem it was a low cost attempt to rule out possibilities.
