DC Sports CAI

I haven't seen much info on the DC Sports CAI, so I bought one and installed it last night. Overall, I am happy with it. On their website it says it is for the yaris S. Well... I decided to make it work anyways. I think the sedan must have a bit more room under the bumper because I might have to trim the intake pipe back an inch or two so I can position it off of the inner fender liner. My wife has the sedan S but I installed it on my hatch. It sounds nice and feels like I gained few extra horses. :headbang:

DC Sports says this product (CAI4407) is still "in development", and not yet released. That's been the case for quite a while now. They don't publish a picture of it.

Not sure which one the OP bought, or where (it wasn't from DC Sports), but as noted, he had to modify it to make it fit.

I bought it from andysautosport. And it was the CAI4407 DC Sports intake, I double checked the box. But like I said, i did take a risk buying it but I had good luck with dc sports products back when I had my Celica so I figured why not. What I felt needed to be modified is the tube needed to be cut back a few inches or the filter would put a little too much pressure on the bumper cover and the fender liner. Other than that, the installation in the engine bay end of it went as planned.

Got any pictures from the top of the engine bay? Is it possible to install this through the fender without removing the front bumper?

I've installed many CAI's in the Yaris and I've never removed a bumper. You do have to remove the wheel and fender liner, which is easier IMO.

Here is the engine bay shot. And as far as removing the bumper. Removing the inner fender liner and splash shield will work just fine. But i found that removing a few plastic clips topside and a few bolts from the splash shield to remove the bumper seemed to work just fine for me. It was also nice because I gave me a little more room to make my adjustments for the best fit.

That doesn't look like it was made for the Yaris. Glad you got it to work, though.

Also, your MAF is now pretty far away from your TB. Maybe it won't matter at all, but please post up any CELs you get.

Yeah I thought it looked different from the picture as well. On CAI's that you have installed ,where does it usually put the filter? Because I did think that it didn't seem right. As for the MAF, I have had no CEL and it shouldn't matter how far away it is because it just has to tell the pcm how much airflow is entering the engine.

I just went on DC's website. Did a little searching and found that the pic you and I saw on andys website is from what DC's website shows for the 03-06 mazda 6. Maybe they just threw a random pic in there since you had noticed like I had on DC's site they don't show a photo of the yaris intake.

I've installed a couple cold airs on the yarii and I have always removed the bumper, I dont like having to contort all kinds of ways to adjust the intake its just way easier once the bumper is on the ground. As for that intake it does look kind of off. I believe usually the air filter is a little lower and not backed up against the front bumper.
