Hey there guys. Just bought a 2008 Yaris 2 door liftback about a week ago and so far I love it! The only problem is that I don't have power locks/windows which is a bit annoying. My fiance said he could put keyless entry/power locks into my car if I got the kit for it, and I've heard good things about the A1 electric kits. Is this the right kit for my car? The 2008 Yaris uses a cable lock system, right?

Thanks!

Yes it does have cable controlled locks. I can't think of a car that doesn't have cable controlled locks. Literally imagine the brake cables on a bicycle. It just transfers lateral motion to produce and effect. Hence.. cable locks.
And if your fiance is handy enough then yes, you could absolutely upgrade your windows and locks to power.
As to whether or not that specific kit would work I'm not sure. I suggest researching for reviews specific to our car.

Well, apparently there are cable actuated locks and rod locks--cable actuated are the newer ones I suppose? I'm just trying to make sure it would work, I would hate to buy a lock kit and then it not be the right one!

I do think it's cable. Look at the pictures here:

^ Incidentally, the guy in that thread used kits fomr A1 electric. So you could just get the same kits he did and you practically have a DIY right there to follow!
