Im pretty sure someone created a topic like this but.

Why did you buy the Sedan or lifback?
What are the advantages and disadvantages & your conclusion for future Yaris owners.

Make it clean and simple.:respekt:

why?

I am going to buy a LB in a few days because 3 doors is better then 4.

Not to mention it is all one car, which makes it easier to take everything out.

Sedans are for families, hatchbacks are for drivers.

I got the lb because I'm putting a wicked system in it and trunks are a b#tch to work with.
And the lb just looks cooler

I too bought the yaris LB! I like it better than the Sedan and it is also cheaper! So that means that I can spend more on accessories! ;o) Too bad I couldnt get it on Black! But that just means that I get to paint it the way that I want! LOL

yea that is true. You can even upgrade your sedan without hitting 15k excluding tax. Liftback you can upgrade it with the best pkg. and it still in the 14k. Try building it at this zip code. 98001, western washington where bill gates rolls at.

Uh, you might want to vote then so you can be the only sedan vote.

I bought the Liftback so I could store a lot of stuff in the back and drive my dogs around. If the Yaris only came in sedan I wouldn't even be looking at it.

Couldn't Agree more. Hatchback all the way. For : Storage, dogs, looks.... you name it. I see Toyota trying to promote sedan have big trunk, but blah-hahahahahahaaha. In-compareable to hatch.

Every car I've owned has been a station wagon or a hatchback of some sort. It's the only thing that fits my lifestyle - I wouldn't consider anything else unless I was buying a sports car specifically to track it with.

Definitely a liftback (or hatchback, as we old-timers call 'em). I've always owned hatches for almost twenty years now. Jeez, I'm getting old...

LB. Like another already said, it looks better and it's cheaper.

Ha ha, sedan sucks!

If this poll holds true for the rest of the population, then I'm afraid Toyota might me a bit disappointed with their sedan sales. Aside from the grill, it is an ugly lil, thing. Rightful heir to the Echo throne.

Hatch-back for sure. It is the most effecient use of space (I can even get my Pinarello in the back, no prob), and besides my hamster doesn't like riding in the trunk.

no no no - no way I'm going to buy a bike costs more than a Yaris ;) And with a Dogma frame + DA and decent wheels...

I have a boring trustworthy Trek 5200 with Ultegra on some race lites... if it ever breaks - then I'll probably get a Giant TCR Advanced with the ISP... maybe get some lightweights ;)

Just to put this all in perspective, in Toyota's first full month of sales in April they sold 6,393 Yari in the US. Even if everyone who's voted so far actually owns one we're about .004% of the owners. :P

Nice figures. Out of those 6393 i've yet to see one here in Sacramento. Though there is a smartcar in town. Drop a GSX motor in that and your set

Toyota Australia havent sold nearly as many SEDANs as they'd hoped --- Hatches are in demand and theres a 3-4 month wait if you dont pick something that's in stock -- most sedans (depending on colour) can be had within a month!

Im waiting till the end of the financial year to go bargaining at dealers :)

You're "Different" enough. LOL

Votes currently 34 to 2, I think that the Sedan is going to be the new xA. Sells like Steaming Ice cubes but when you see one, you'll keep looking at it & start thinking that it looks good. LOL

I have waiting a long time for Toyota to release a 3-Door Hatchback. the last one (that I can think of) was the Corolla FX (AE82). So I can't wait until the time comes to get my Yaris, Black Hatch, of course.

why?

hello! im a newbie and i voted for the liftback.
i was originally looking at the mini but then i stumbled on the yaris and got hooked! i love its cute design...i dont know anything about mechanics so im just really going by looks and fuel efficiency, of course. im petite so i think the yaris will be perfect for me. i even test drove one a few weeks ago and im still drooling. :) ill be getting mine hopefully soon.
i think this is a nice forum so hello to everybody! :)

I voted for the sedan, but Im somewhat undecided. Honestly, I like the looks of the sedan a bit more.. The liftback is a little too cutesy for me (of course, with a yaris, yer gonna get cutesy whether its a liftback or a sedan)..

Aaaww C'mon guy!!! Where's the men around here? I don't wanna be cute.. The LB is as cute as a button to me. And most people that will see me driving will nost likly think it my girlfriends car or somethin.. (Even though the sedan s isn't too far away from the LB) at least is a lil farther away from "cute as a button"

If owning a "cute" like the Yaris is somehow an affront to your manhood, you may have a problem not related to cars. Real men drive whatever the hell they want.

I suppose you mean Saab. I don't know about the current GM marketed versions (never driven one), but the older cars though not to my liking visually or even in my price bracket, were very well engineered. Comfortable, quiet, and fun to drive.

Hey, at 6'7" i bought the hatch... folks are surprised as to how much room I have. Then again, it came down to the Yaris or SMART car

why?
05-08-2006, 09:31 PM
My Saab is still phenomenal in the snow. That has always been a Saab trademark.

As for prices, new they are high, but the depreciation is crazy. I bought my car for $20k US about 3 or 4 years ago and I'll be lucky to get $13-14k now.

As for looks, not only does it look good, but they only made 5000 a year.

ricko
05-08-2006, 11:35 PM
Built by a company that also designs and builds jetfighters (Saab), is a little cooler than having a car built by a company that is also famous for it's sewing machines. And the Swedes should know something about driving in the snow.
