I'm curious about it myself. Thoughts?

I wouldn't consider it unless they offer a version with the manual transmission.

Lmao, this was covered a while ago and it's funny, the original thread everyone was, 'yes' and 'maybe'. Now everyone is 'no' and 'def. not'.
I myself, could not justify paying more for some different badges and a better sound system......

If I didn't already have the Yaris, I would seriously have considered the IQ. I haven't seen one on the road here yet, but saw loads of them in Europe. It would be nice for the IQ to get the respect from Toyota over here that it gets in Europe.
I regularly get emails from the Toyota dealer that I visited in Paris, and this morning's had a link to some of the cool packages that are offered on the IQ over there (like the City Racer edition):

Everyone gets cool packages except us.
I would, if it wasn't priced as much as a 2012 Yaris...

So price the big sticking point? Not bad reviews?

I was all set to pick one up, but now I think we will pick up an FR-S as a shop project car.

For another $7000 more (estimated), you get a RWD, 6 speed, 200bhp car :)
I'll probably go after the FR-S after a year.

-wheel wells look to big for the cheap steel rims. would need 16x8's with 215/40/16 to fill them up.
-the stereo is put in a plastic box above the dash which is good for gps but it looks tempting for crackheads to just break that whole section of the dash off to steal the radio.
-price with cvt is $17k+ . gulf states toyota, the distributor out of houston added $900 to the sticker with bullsh!t like undercoating, rustproofing, and pinstriping.
-silver isn't its best color.
I second the opinion that its not worth it without a manual transmission. with a stick i still wouldn't pay more than $14k for one..

Wow, saw them in Europe but didn't remember how small they really are!
But my opinion remains that there's no way I'd get one.
Cheers! M2

Finally starting to arrive in the US, and it's only a few years old elsewhere.
Yeah, Toyota is delusional with the IQ's pricing. The price of a Corolla, really?
Problem is, the IQ's tech (architecturally) costs big bucks making the price disproportional to its size.
Would make a great toy, but not much more.

I would have to pass.Looks like it has been chopped.I love my Veedub because it's full of character. So does
the IQ in a weird funny kind of way.
no way it can be as practical as a yaris hatch, so it's a no. Yaris, as small as it is, actually works as a family car for us and we have 2 small kids.

IQ barely fits 1 kid with a car seat and there's NO WAY your gonna get a stroller in there on top of that. IQ is out of the question and a new yaris is also not in my future having 2 kids....

Be better off getting the " C " at around $19,000 . Would likely get better gas mileage in the city than the IQ .

I'd drive one, mount a trailer hitch, and tow a gutted one facing backwards.

Yes, later this summer or early fall, black currant with the alloy wheels. My new commuter car. Fold down the rear seats and use it as a two seater.
I love small cars - the smaller the better.

I saw one last week in San Francisco. Last.FM radio is advertising them heavily these days.
It's bigger than a SMART and much more compact than a Yaris.
If I didn't have a Yaris already I would consider it, only because parking is such a pain out here, the smaller the car, the better. The aesthetic of the car (especially from the back) are a little odd, but otherwise, I wouldn't mind test driving one. My answer is still no because I already have a Yaris and I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. But it did turn my head when I saw it parked.

Death trap,I don't believe the 11 air bags would help.
Americans always had the need for power, which that
doesn't have.(People sure spend alot of money for power).
There over-priced for what they are.
What can you haul in it? Maybe a case of beer.
Sure wouldn't want to say (Honey this is our new car).
Lets put baby in back.(State law by the way).
It dosen't matter what fuel prices are, people like you and
I still need fuel, like power, and above all else saftey.
If it was $9k or so it would be one thing, but it is just way the hell overpriced for what it is.

I'm thinking of trading the Yaris up for a Mr2 Spyder...
