* Camera Install Question

I have a DVD player in my car and want to install a backup camera (JVC KV-CM10).

The installation directions says to attach a wire to the terminal fuse block. Is this for the power? Could I just connect to the lighter to get power? or is there another way?

Find the ACC wire for the stereo and slice into that, easier to find and use rather than around the fuse box.
Also there should be a Reverse signal input control wire at the camera end to splice into the reverse light loom and one at the HU end for the reverse signal imput wire for the HU to pick up when the car is in reverse so it knows to turn the camera on.
So I don't know why in the diagram it says the reverse imput wire is not used.

That makes sense to splice into the ACC wire for the stereo.

I'm still confused though. Where does the "reverse gear signal" wire from the deck get attached too? and where does the purple with white stripe wire from the camera get attached too?

That reverse gear signal wire gets spliced into your reverse wire. I know it's not long enough.
Is there the same purple/white strip wire at the other end of the camera RCA cable?
If its there, attach the Reverse imput wire from the HU and at the camera end, splice into the reverse wire behind the reverse light.
If that purple/white strip wire is only at the camera end, again, splice into the reverse wire and plug the male end into the camera in on the HU and test it.

I should take the purple wire from my deck and the purple wire from my camera and join them both to the reverse light?

OK, you said at the camera end there is the purple/white strip wire, does that same wire appear at the end that plugs into the camera in jack on the HU?
If yes, splice the Purple reverse signal wire from the HU to the purple/white strip on the RCA plug end.
Then the purple/white strip at the camera end gets spliced into the reverse light wire.

If no, the wire at the camera end is spliced into the reverse light wire and the RCA end simply plugs into the Camera in on the HU.

In the diagram you can see the "Purple with White Stripe" wire connects to the power supply then the camera. There is also a "Purple with White Stripe" from the HU (the diagram does not show it)
