Christmas eve the wife rear end another car.
Was going fast enough to set off the airbag. Front end totaled.
Just waiting on the appraiser to check it out but I'm almost positive it'll be wrote off.
Only about 10 months old. Luckily we have depreciation deductible coverage so we should get back the full value we paid for it.
One BIG POINT is as hard as she hit the other car she walked away perfectly fine.
OK as good as she was before the accident.
No injuries to the other vehicles occupants either.
I'm impressed with the results of the safety measures.
Best Wishes: Rick

sorry to hear that bud, but glad to hear that she came out safe. We have had plenty of people end up with total Yarii and for the most part they have been impressive on the safety side of things.

She rear-ended another car? Was she talking on her cell phone or something?

Either that or texting. Or putting on make-up.
My brother's EX-wife totaled 3 cars while they were married only 5 years, each time putting on make-up while driving to work. Notice I said EX wife.
I'm glad I'm not married, if I was and my spouse totaled my Yaris, I'd really be ticked off.

I'm glad no one was injured and the safety of these cars is as advertised.
Now comes the hassle dealing with the insurance company. Thats the worst part.

It's official--- Write Off.
As for pictures I have a couple in the cell phone. If I only can figure how to get them out of there.
Only had it for 10 months. Aprox. 40,000 km or 25,000 miles.
As for dealing with the insurance we had depreciation coverage so I'm getting everything we paid for the car back including the taxes & payments made less $500 deductible due to an at fault accident. They first tried beating us for about $2,500 more but I quickly said BS. I knew my figures.
Going in today to order a new one. From a 2010 to 2012 upgraded to A/C + a little more. Monthly payments going up about $25-$30 more. Insurance rates will take a hit also. :frown:
As for her using a cell or applying make up not the case.
Not paying attention would be the fact.:help:

Just got back from the dealer. Yaris is not available right now. Need a car very soon.
Ordered a new 2011 Matrix. Basically the same options as the previous Yaris. Payments about $30 more a month than the 2010 Yaris.
They will confirm tomorrow morning if it's still avalible but was at 5PM.

Be sure to post a picture of your new car! I originally wanted a Matrix, but at the time, it was more than I could afford. So I got its little brother, the Yaris. And I wouldn't trade my car for the world!
Anyway, the reason I asked if she was driving distracted is because I'm amazed by the number of bad women drivers on the road. Yes, I've seen the make-up thing, but also the weaving all over the road while talking on a cell phone, texting, etc. I mean, seriously, I'm amazed how stupid these people can be. By the way, I'm a woman, so you can't call me sexist.

ITA! I never do my make-up in the car, as well as talk or text. If I need to make a call, I pull over into a parking lot.

Bad drivers are everywhere. I've lost more faith in humanity in my 3 years teaching driving than at any other point in my life.
