of the Eco-Meter for the base model '08 sedan with the 4 speed automatic . Actual gas mileage likely to be around 44.7 since Eco-Meter has been reading higher ( set @ 96 ) . Ended up with 42.916 m.p.g. calculated ( 164.2 mis. / 3.826 gals. ) , while Eco showed 43 . This tank was the 2 of us , winds of 15+ , and many hills . Temps were average of 42 . Bridgestone Blizzak WS 70s set at 35.5 and using Shell synthetic 5w-20 ( SN ) . Not bad for winterblend gas w/ E10 .

good result, especially for an automatic in wintertime ! Does the Eco-Meter require calibration to make it accurate ? I had to adjust my ScanGauge a few times ; now it's within 1.5%.

We were quite :eyebulge: . Was at 45.5 until we hit about 3 red lights before arriving at the store . Yes it needs to be calibrated , 95 or 96 are closest to the calculated gas mileage .

Ecometer is a nice unit but don't leave it plugged in when not in use. Whether it is an old or new version it will continue to draw power and will ruin your battery. I went through a hassle trying to figure out what was eating my batteries until I took my Yaris to an automotive electric shop. It is a great unit but it continues to draw significant power when you'd think it was off. I stopped leaving it plugged in when not in use and my battery has been fine.

This is the newer Eco-Meter that's said not to drain the battery . Thanks for the input . So far , so good .

This is the '11 base model Fit with the 5 speed automatic after filling . Was 53 at one time , before hitting a few stops and red lights . Picture was taken in a parking lot before picking up some groceries . Refilled again and car got over 40 m.p.g.. The display showed 40.6 and the calculation was 42.84 ( 72.5 ms. / 1.692 gals. @ 1 click ) . The 53 was a first .
