Well We sold the yaris today. I had a lot of fun with the car. We've been struggling to keep up with the payments for a while and have been trying to sell it. Finally got an offer of 9000 today and decided to take it. I owed 9800 on it .. so sorta took a gamble that i can come up with mortgage money by the end of the month. lol.. so hopefully that happens.

we are now stuck driving my beast of a truck until we can afford to grab a little beater car.

heres the truck http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e208/3mrhythm/98f150/IMG_0275.jpg

lol i already regret selling it ..but we've been a month behind on paying the car for the last 8 months or so..

Sorry to hear that.. maybe you can buy a used one after you sort things out and can grab a small car again :)

Wouldnt it have been getter to sell the expensive to own/operate truck instead?

Looks like there is a nice size trailer attached to the truck, don't think the Yaris would pull that around.
So I would say that is why the Yaris went, and not the truck.

yeah we have a landscaping business. yaris was the fuel efficient Ride.. the Truck makes the money.. but without any snow this winter it hasnt made us anything .. but we also dont owe anything on it.. which is why it stayed and the yaris went :)

As an owner of a F-250 also (work only use) and a Yaris, I can relate! Mine gets 12 MPG empty or loaded, pretty much no matter what, 12 mpg! Tough to swallow after the Yaris's 40+ mpg!

haha +1.
That's definitely not basically a new yaris. The ad says 2010 as well, and it's definitely an 06-08, you can tell from the pre-2009 facelift front and rear bumpers.

Hah, I would have gotten rid of the house, and kept the Yaris. No house, no mortage. Renting FTW. I'm betting that it's actually the house that eating up all your money, not the car.

Actually our mortgage is only 950/no 1550sqft 3 bdrm... Cost more than that to rent something that even half that size here

Gotcha. Your mortgage payment is very reasonable. I'm paying $850 a month to rent a 900 sqft/2 bedroom 1 bath townhouse with a 1-car detached garage. But anyway, I agree with you, the 2012 Yaris is fugly. I don't know why, but I can't get past the fact that it only has one super-sized windshield wiper, instead to the usual two. Anyway, here's hoping that there'll be a big snowstorm soon where you live!

There nothing wrong with the running gear. Its all cosmetic and over time you will figure out what to do with it.

i like what they did to the sides.. but the front is gross. its like they took the sedan front and made it worse

Same here, way cheaper to buy a house than rent.

It seems that it depends on where you live. I often forget that it's different based on the city you're located. Here where I live (or at least the neighborhoods that I'm interested in), it is cheaper to rent than to buy. I nearly bought, but after much number crunching, I figured out that it made much more sense to rent.

But anyway, back on topic. I also like the sides of the new Yaris, but that's about it. I hate the front and the back. To many sharp angles for my taste. I prefer the soft rounded look of 2007-2011. It makes the car look "cute".

Just curious....

Why didnt you sell the truck and pay off the Yaris, or at least, keep the yaris and buy a beater truck?
